each time i connect my friends ipod to my laptop, the "found new hardware wizard" comes up and starts flashing. It wont let me download any music into my friends ipod. Please help!

You can't. It is a feature of the iPod that you cannot simply plug it into someone else's computer and upload music from it to prevent people from giving their music others.
I wanted to migrate all of my music from my laptop to my desktop and when I plugged my iPod into my desktop it completely reformatted my iPod. I ended up having to physically move my iTunes database and music files from one machine to the other.

Hi Faith. Like anything else there is always a back door someplace, but I don't know where it could be on this one so
I'll have to agree with Doublee. I hope someone comes up with a solution. You own that ipod and should be able to do what you wish within the law. The Industry has overstepped its boundaries once again.
