it`s an emachine puter and sometimes it`ll go for a few hours b4 restarting then other times it will do it real quick like twice in 5-10 minutes...... very frustrating

You are either overheating or you have a virus.

Look for dust in the air vents and fire up your antiviruis software.

i have been with a lot of trouble with emachines, and 90% of the time its the power supply, but all check the capacitors on the motherboard to see if they are raised up, and if they are that could also be the cause. Lastly check for a virus.

Boot up in safe mode and if you have any copy of registry just restore that. may be you have some loose harware! Tightenup the screws dude!

Everyone already seems to have good answers... you might even have a cable loose and everytime you move your mouse or something it shuts off... just a suggestion, had something similar happen to me once.

maybe there's a problem with the CPU's heat sink, overheating of processor causes frequent C.P.U restarts.
