Or maybe that defense could be used by all criminals...we just take someone's word that they are no longer alive, so stop looking for them.

well Bush said he would consider any country that harbored terrorists to be the same as the terrorists. So I would call that MUCH MORE justified than our reasoning for going into Iraq...

You are absolutely correct and I don't think he's dead at all.Getting him would be a very big symbolic victory.Of course it will not stop al quaida or radical Islam but as long as he's out there the US looks weak and other enemies we might not even be aware of now could be looking too.
Bush said he'd catch him dead or alive.Maybe somewhere another person who's now totally unknown but hates America and the West is thinking America isn't that tough.Maybe I can do the same.
Bottom line Osama needs to be in jail or killed by America as a clear signal no one should get the foolish idea to mess with the United States.That it will mean your end if you make that choice

What makes this question difficult to answer is the disparate plains of thought where the left is concerned;
some say OBL has a 5 handicap and plays golf with Bush, while others--to their credit and the relief of the sane--maintain Bush and the Coalition missed him in Tora Bora.
I'll gladly assume you count yourself among the latter camp, and by doing so, this answer is made possible: we should keep searching for OBL. But it should be remembered; even if he's found or removed from the living, terrorism will not cease.
Sarcasm and crassness are well know disciplines; I'm a practitioner of each.

I am still mad at you. You went and got married on me, and stood me up! lol Congratulations though, but I am still mad>
We are looking for him, in every crack, crevice and under every rock in Afghanistan. That is what makes me think he is dead. Did we ever find Jack the Ripper? I can be pretty sure he is dead too, and the answer is, no we never found him.

He's no doubt in Pakistan where we have no authority to enter into. We would have to invade that country I suppose and he would just move again and we'd be at war again.
