A mother asked President Bush Jr. ...
"Why did my son have to die in Iraq?"
A mother asked President Clinton ...
"Why did my son have to die in Saudi Arabia?"
A mother asked President Bush Sr. ...
"Why did my son have to die in Kuwait?"
Another mother asked President Lyndon Johnson ...
"Why did my son have to die in Vietnam?"
Another mother asked President Truman ...
"Why did my son have to die in Korea?"
Another mother asked President Roosevelt ...
"Why did my son have to die on Iwo Jima?"
Another mother asked President Eisenhower ...
"Why did my son have to die on a battlefield on a field in France?"
Yet another mother asked President Lincoln ...
"Why did my son have to die at Gettysburg?"
And yet another mother asked President Washington ...
"Why did my son have to die on a frozen field near Valley Forge?"
Then long, long ago, a mother asked...
"Heavenly Father
why did my Son have to die on a cross outside of Jerusalem ?"
The answer is the same ..
"So that others may have life and dwell
in peace, happiness, and freedom."

I thought the magnitude and the simplicity were awesome.
Please support the Troops. Without them, you have no country.

I don't go out and protest the war but I don't agree with our going into Iraq in the first place. I do disagree with you that I'm against our troops I support them completely they have done nothing wrong and are fighting hard and dying representing us it is there leaders that I think are the idiots.

I suppose there might be some "magnitude and simplicity" in the quote, it's the point that eludes me. My heart is with the mothers whose main message seems to be that all war is unintelligible, and in the end a terrible waste. If you're trying to connect the sacrifice of Jesus with every soldier in the U.S. military, I'd say your analogy is incomplete and flawed. Incomplete because any Muslim terrorist or terrorist trainer could use the same logic: "I must die for the freedom of our people.". Also, as I recall, Jesus didn't have an AK47. For your analogy to be valid all U.S. servicemen and women should lay down their weapons an allow Iraqis of all sects and political persuasions to execute them.

Sorry, but some wars have little or nothing to do with peace, happiness, and freedom.
Some wars are more about conflict, rage, and oppression; and this is exactly what the Iraq War has wrought.

Again. We support the troops. Theirs is a mission of futility and you do not understand why we are there. You true believers are the most dangerous of humanity. You use religion to to justify predatory actions. Shame on you.

I was with you until you dragged religion into it.
And it is completely posible to support the troops without supporting the war. Despite what you warmongering wackos want to believe.

I don't have to support Bushco and thier twisted agenda in order to support the troops.
BTW: Mary knew it was coming:
"and Simeon blessed them and said to Mary his mother, "Behold, this child is destined for the fall and rise of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be contradicted,
(and you yourself a sword will pierce) so that the thoughts of many hearts may be revealed."" - Luke, 2:35
Tsk, tsk,... you bible-beaters are sure rusty on your scripture!

that's quaint. IT's a lie. Fighting and dying in Iraq does not give anyone life, freedom or happiness. War brings only saddness, death and loss.

This is a joke right?
There is no comparison to Bush using forged documents to initiate a lie-based war and the death of Christ.
For neo-cons to even make such a sick comparison speaks volumes as to their disconnect from reality.
Cheering for this war does not support the soldiers. Cheering for this war supports the profits of Haliburton, Lockheed, Blackwater, and the like.
