Every time a democrat speaks, Republican broadcasters yell SOCIALISM! COMMUNISM! WE ARE GOING DOWN THE TUBES MY FELLOW AMERICANS.

C'mon, government providing services and goods to the public IS NOT socialism or communism, nor even a hint of it.

Centralized planning for all resources and industry and eliminating the free and open stock market, is socialism and communism.

Now, please name me a major democratic leader that is endorsing eliminating American corporations and bond and stock markets and endorsing centralized government control of these markets.

If you can, and are credible about it, then, I'll get on the radio with these guys and yell as loudly as they do!

Social Programs are socialist in nature, thus they are called Social Programs. You mentioned the Post Office. Now let's compare UPS or Fedex to the US Post Office, which ones are profitable and well run, and which ones are not, the ones with the government or the ones with out. Now lets take Private Schools and public schools and apply success rates, literacy rates, and graduation rates, which one is better? Defense can not be privatized for obvious reason. I bet if we privatized Fire and Police Departments we would find that they do a better job and cheaper too. Could you imagine two police forces competing for a better criminal prosecution rate, and a lower crime rate. We might just get the criminals off the streets yet.

The Clinton strategy may not be to take over the functions that you have named, but her agenda is communist, based on who has influenced her, and the policies endorsed when billy was in office. Her view is that any one who is making more money than anyone else is a social disease that needs to be cured by higher taxes. A careful examination of her ideology reveals this. By the way, the "rich" that she and others complain about getting tax breaks is nothing more than the rank and file of middle America. To understand that, one needs to carefully examine their view of income beyond a person's base income.

its the part of the argument that i've never heard a conservative answer.

true - the police and fire departments are NOT privatized.

basically, the thinking is that where life and death are involved, corporate profits shouldn't be.

healthcare is the same way.
