I think this coach should be punished like Michael Vick. I know I'm opening myself up to comments but honestly - what Vick did was despicable however it didn't have anything to do with football. THIS DUDE is FLAT OUT CHEATING the game of FOOTBALL and gets a slap on the wrist while Vick goes to jail. What do you think about this?

Coach Bill was not punished severe enough. He cheated....that has to be the worst thing you can do in any sport.
Don't most people who cheat in sports get booted from the sport? He should have been suspended for the year! This may seem harsh, but do we know how long he has been doing this???
He shouldn't be able to coach...at a minimum, this year!!

I don't think Belicheck should have been punished like Vick, and i disagree that getting suspended for a year and going to prison is a "slap on the wrist" but i do believe the punishments Goodall hands out are very inconsistent, i think Belicheck should have been punished more because of the fact that it is cheating and that the memo for it had just been recently sent out. And I'm not naive i know other teams do it but, they got caught, that's the point.

well, let's first bring to realization that the nfl did not send vick to jail. vick sent vick to jail, because he broke a law. however, i do not think the nfl is just for suspending him indefinately, being that it had nothing to do with the league. even with the new "no tolerance" law as set by goddell, this is his first mentioning of any wrong doing, since being in the league. i say let the law handle vick and hit him with a 8 game suspension(his prison time will handle the rest of the seaon), because of the severity of his charges. as fas as coach b, he should get at least 8 games without pay, being it is directly involving the nfl. the team should also have had to forfeit that game and fined as well.

I don't think the rule should exist, in the first place.
Why should anyone be punished for video taping signals that are visible for anyone in the stadium to see, if they bother to just look? Just looking at the signals without video taping them is not "cheating", so why should video taping the signals be "cheating"?
If your signals are so simple that they can be deciphered during the course of a single game, then you deserve to have them stolen. If you're concerned about other teams filing them away for future reference if you play them again, then disguise the signals, or change them the next time you play the same team. If you do that, you instantly render video taping useless, null, and void. No need for a rule. It's not rocket science.
This is the NFL, not Pop Warner League. The coaches and players are professionals. If you don't want the other team stealing your signals, then do something about it, like I described in the previous paragraph. You are a professional. Don't hide behind the skirts of a whiners rule about other teams not being allowed to video tape your signals that are given right out in the open for everyone to see.

Nowhere near severe enough for the simple fact that that sh** for brains Bellichek thinks he's above the rules. He was almost laughing in the league's face when he "apologized". Look what happened to Pete Rose. One of the best & he'll never get the official recognition because he broke the rules. Is Bellichek above this too? They should force him to be the coach in Cincy. He'd fit right in with that bunch of criminals.

No, I don't agree. Granted, I don't agree with the punishing of the coach, though.
I say take the win away from them. That will have a greater impact on them when they lose homefield advantage during the playoffs.
