Jim, that is what our justice system is for. Find him, charge him, and try him and sentence him.

Yes, Jim, I do think we will get a fair trial. Simple because those who support Gitmo, holding people without trial or charge, etc...will NOT be the ones looking for him, OR finding him. Either way, with all of it's flaws, we have a system here in America that is IMPERATIVE we exercise to lead by example.

After these two wars, I no longer trust the government to be honest with us.
Therefore, I really don't know if Bin Laden is a bad or good guy or he has some real gripes that we know nothing of and he's just gotten so fed up with American arrogance that he's fighting back, or he's a mythical monster made up to change the color of his beard whenever the puppet masters and photoshop morphers say so.
Honestly
Do we know why he is pizzzed? I don't think it is as simple as what we've been told. That is, if he is really who we think he is.
======
That is why I brought this up -- if he is captured, do you really think he'd get a fair trial, or a trial at all? Those in Gitmo are still waiting and he'd be under the same authority.
If you really think he'd get a fair trail, then you are living in a fantasy world. Where is the courts going to find jurors of his peers that are not willing to put a noose around him themselves?
======
Peace
Jim

Excuse me while I play devil's advocate.
We must ask ourselves what would be considered a "just" punishment for such an individual who happens to be revered by many across the world? Executing him would only make him a martyr, further "emboldening his loyal band of followers to carry out more attacks; life imprisonment only gives his supporters hope his potential release or escape in the future. Here lies the paradox.
Also, those who carried out the actual crimes are already dead. Basically, it boils down to satisfying a vengeful public hell-bent on vendetta rather than "serving justice." It would make more sense to persuade others from following Bin Laden's ideology, decreasing his influence and eventually rendering him irrelevant altogether. Only then could real justice then be served.

I make every effort not to classify people by their race/religion/sex/etc. There are plenty of Muslims who are as horrified by the terrorism (on both sides of the 'war') as I am. They just don't make good TV footage. I would love to see Musharraf take stronger action against the terroristic radicals in Pakistan, but his position is not particularly tenable and domestic politics always takes priority for a political leader. I would also like to see 'hate speech' charges leveled against some of the more radical Christians in the US who do nothing to put Christianity in a 'high moral ground' position.

he has harmed Muslims more than any other population. what use is there when Bush created thousands and thousands more Bin Ladins all over the world by his actions? i think these groups feed on attention any way. USA is guilty of strengthening these ignorant and fanatic groups all over the world who have extremely harmed the whole world specifically the Muslims! USA has the highest rate of fanaticism within developed nations which has also been strengthen. poverty and fanaticism have a very strong co-relation.the main winners of this new "ism" or terrorism is the big corporations. the labor and most middle class are the victims no matter where they come from! peace

Remember, Bush said that finding bin Laden is "no longer a priority". And after all, why should Bush & Co. have focused on getting justice for 3,000 people who were burned to death when there was all of that oil in Iraq to be gotten?:)

He's dead you know. He was killed at Tora Bora and if you could dig up the whole mountain, you'd find his bones. Every picture and every video of him have either been fake or from an earlier time. The last video was without a doubt a fake with a piss poor makeup job and that beard couldn't have been more fake. You wanna take some bones and try them for murder then go ahead.

"The most important thing is for us to find Osama bin Laden. It is our number one priority and we will not rest until we find him." G.W. Bush, 9/13/01
Washington Post, 9/17/01, UPI: Bush said he wants accused terrorist leader Osama bin Laden "dead or alive.” “I want justice...There's an old poster out West, as I recall, that said, 'Wanted: Dead or Alive,'"- G.W. Bush, 9/17/01, UPI
AP, 12/14/01: President Bush pledged anew Friday that Osama bin Laden will be taken "dead or alive."
FLOP:
Capturing OBL no longer a priority:
G.W. Bush, 3/13/02: I don't know where Bin Laden is. I have no idea and really don't care. It's not that important. It's not our priority."
Why do people that support Bush hate his quotes so much?

depends, is Bush here. He has said he is not interested in OBL.
Most Democrats or Liberals I know are very interested in bringing OBL to justice.
Unfortunately , the Conservatives and Republicans I know are more interested in staying in Iraq forever.

Ovviously the neocons are. WWithout bin Ladin, they lose their boogeyman to try to scare people into surrendering their liberty. A boogeyman is no good if you catch him.
