well this saturday I was minding my own business when two elderly ladies came trying to convert me to be a Jahova's witness. they said they were in the Neiborhood (I live a Mile away from anyone else in podunk Iowa) so I was Bored home alone. so Rather than tell them not interested I decided to strike up a Conversation with them (I'm an Agnostic) so I ended up defending Atheism. I have found loop holes in the bible including:

God Says that he does not choose favorites yet he constantly is refering to the jews as his favorites.

How is it that the book of Levidicus (spelling?) is basically a hand book on how to deal with your slaves going on to describe procedures similar to happenings in exodus and yet we are to feel sorry for the jews simply because they are slaves

but I digress I've been told that they may come back so are there any other things I can spout to them?

ask them to tell you what their god intends to do to people who willingly rejects worshiping him. then ask them if they have studied other religions, which will lead you to giving them the last salvo of - how they know that their god is the right one? and watch their faces as the blood drains from them. hahahaha

What makes you a firm Agnostic?

Jehovah's Witnesses feel as though they are following the scriptural command at Matthew 28:19 - 19 Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit.

Jehovah's Witnesses are the most peaceable people you can meet. They are not there to convert you, but to bring God's promise to light. They feel being there is helping you. If you are truly not interested, then you should be forward with them and tell them so. Ask them not to return and they won't. Don't waste their time or yours by trying to find fault with each other's belief. Afterall, we were all granted our own free will to make our own decisions.

I suggest that if you are truly interested in knowing what they believe, then ask them. They truly can back up their beliefs biblically.

I am wondering something... have you researched your belief and know the history of it well enough that when they begin to poke holes through it that you can defend it? If I were you that is where I would start first. Be sure you know the origin and history of your belief. You might be surprised at what you find.

Spell check will help try it you just might like it.

I would say that you probably have no clue what the bible says about anything. And were did you get the idea that God did not have favorites. You did not read that in the Bible. Its full of Stories about his favorites.

perhaps looking for ways to goad little old lady's isn't the best thing to do. they do think they are doing the right thing. there god is one of the few that makes threats like burning forever in a pit. if you believed that would you wish it on anyone? they are just trying to save you from the eternal damnation they believe in. just tell them kindly but firmly that you aren't interested (they do sometimes come back)
i once was greeted by a pair of gentlemen in business suits (including jackets) on 102 degree day. i gave them a glass of water and sent them away they came back the same time the next day. like i change my mind every 24 hours...

Christians put themselves out on a limb by asserting that Christ has a dual nature : at once man and God. This is central to christianity. The Jehova's witnesses on the other
hand do not believe that Christ was anything more than a
man. Therefore the Jehova's witnesses are not christians.
They believe Jesus to be a prophet, and are therefore closer to muslims than to christians.

Where does it say that God doesn't choose favorites? The Bible clearly states that He does- King David, for ex. Isn't the issue just that you say he shouldn't?
As for the witnesses- they are going to have an answer for anything that you say to them. To avoid aggravation just tell them the truth. "I don't want to hear about it, good day."

A simpler thing to do is say, I am not interested. Chances are when they come back, they will have spent the little time needed to seal your "loop holes".

Who needs to point out contradictions in the bible? The whole thing is full of ****. It's not even applicable according to the old testament. Why don't you ask them for any proof of a god? Why be agnostic just because you're not sure 100% it's not there? Are you agnostic for the Flying Spaghetti Monster too?

You think them comming to your door is bad, try going door to door with them.
My childhood was screwed.
Anyways, I don't bother with the bible because it is a little fairytale to me, and you should too.
