Well for once I don't agree with you. I do believe that anything that requires an instrument is music..therefore Madonna and MJ both produced music. There is no reason to slam their style because you don't personally like it, nor do you have the place to say their music isn't real. Freddie Mercury was influenced by pop music..he loved Liza Manilli, so what you are saying is that pop has had no influence whats so ever over the years, that's not true. Many great bands took influences from ALL genres of music, rock and metal has been heavily influenced by the blues, without it, neither would exist. Rock and pop have become co-genres over the years, and I think that any band that is out there making music is doing more than you are. At least they are trying to make it doing something they love even if you don't like the genre of music they are producing, you don't have to listen to it, do you? Well considering you are an american and have the free will to change radio stations than no you don't. *And just to add to my point, I've heard of Metallica, and I've heard a little of Venom..but Helloween I have not. At least use bands that EVERYONE knows if you are trying to fuel your argument. for example Iron Maiden and Pantera..I'm pretty positive more people know them.
