I feel that the US Constitution is one of the best things that has ever happened to this country. The Bill of Rights is hands down the most influential and freedom-granting document that this country has ever seen. I love and appreciate the fact that the Constitution is open to so much interpretation since it gives the American people so many different ways of understanding it. I also love how it is actually a written document instead of a spoken word so that it is a foundation in our country instead of something that could be taken away. It is a great document and extremely pivotal to not only American history, but also world history.

I think that at the time it was written, it was great, but now, the government is expoliting the loopholes such as no direct right to privacy. Also, there should be an amendment calling the government to not create future amendments restricting anyone's rights, such as same-sex marriage and a ban on flag burning.
Overall, it may be incredibly corrupt in the way it is interpreted, but it also holds together (at least for now) a population of over 300,000,000 people which is not an easy task. In 100 years I don't think it will, though.
The Roman Empire used to be a republic just like the US, but people got lazy just like the US and never voted. One man named Julius Ceasar(?) said, "why don't you just elect me and I'll take care of everything for you?" and that's what happened. From there on there was a dictarorship.

The constitution is a fantastic document. Much thought went into its creation, and influence was pulled from the greatest political philosophers of the time. It is probably as close to perfection as any political document has ever come. Failure in our country is not as a result of this document, it is as a result of misinterpretation and deviation!
It is like the foundation of a house built on rock that hasn't moved in tens of thousands of years, if you build on the foundation and within the reach of the foundation, what you build will stand a great time. If you decide you want to build a guest house on the beach by your foundation, because it's conveniently close, it may not last so long.

I cherish it as one of the best standards for how a society should be run.
The only problem with the Constitution is that it was written by wealthy white Christian men who lacked the imagination to think about the needs of people who were not wealthy, white, Christian, or male. If only the Founders had had that ability to imagine another person's needs, the Constitution would be perfect.

The most inspired, thoughtful document of how a people should be governed. To think it is more than 200 years old makes it all the more amazing.
It's a shame it has been ignored for these past 7 years of the Bush regime.

If the Constitution was followed to the word then most problems we are facing now would not be even happening.

It's a great document as long as the we are governed according to it and those in power follow it. Otherwise, it may as well be toilet paper. Yes, I like the Constitution.

The problem with old literature is that it ages poorly. Just look at the Elvis Presley collection. Ya, there's still fan's. Mostly because they remember it for what it was.

It's not the best piece of literature I've ever read, but the authors wrote with conviction, and I have the utmost respect for that..
