I think he is arrogant and spoiled and he can't stand when he loses.
He thinks he is the best driver f1 has ever seen, which is actually impossible because he hasn't even been in the sport for a whole season yet.
He is a spoiled brat in my mind and someone has to bring him back down to earth fast before he causes someone else a serious injury.I don't care if he hurts himself but I don't want anyone else getting hurt because of his stupid antics and careless driving.

Well the guy's a rookie in a "stolen" car. I'd say stick him in a Toyota, Honda or Williams. If he can make it big there then he probably could drive for Ferrari. But that little crazy move Alonso did on Hamilton just goes to show Alonso is desperate... Until so far Hamilton has had the cooler head. He (Alonso) really needs to stop whining. Besides without the constructors championship pressure on their shoulders, the Mclaren boys are on every man for himself right now so they'd probably be killing each other in the up and coming races without any regard for the survival of the other car and driver. That should be an entertaining battle...

Forget the rookie title, the guy has been around motor-sport very successfully for over a decade.
Talented, well mannered, sometimes amusing (I love his little laugh), a perfect PR man and a good team-player; they don't come much better.
As a driver, he is just almost perfect, and makes very, very few mistakes, and consistency tends to win championships.
At this point in the season, picking up the crown may prove a wee bit difficult, especially if Alonso keeps trying to barge him off the track as he did at Spa. The longer wheelbase Ferrari also has inherently more stability on the faster, wider circuits, whereas the Maclaren is better suited to tighter circuits, or where there are slower corners and sudden changes of direction. This is why the Ferrari and the Maclaren tend to swap results from one race to another.
I personally hope that Lewis Hamilton gets the championship, but even if he finished second or even third, it is an awesome achievement for one so young and so new to the F1 circus.

I'm a fan of Massa now that Schumacher has retired, (No hate mail please)
However, you have got to agree that Hamilton is an excellent driver.
He has the overtaking skills that would humble many veteran drivers. He is fast, accessible and supports his team.
With more experience, time will tell how his career will develop. I hope he becomes world champion one day.
One thing is for sure his rookie year in F1 has certainly ruffled a few feathers.
Hamilton could very well have set the standard by which all future rookies will be judged. I only hope the press leave him alone long enough for him to get on with it.

I think Lewis Hamilton is a rookie (in F1) who is also an amazing natural talent, well spoken, attractive (his family and mine share some national connections) and very diplomatic. He certainly has a lot to learn, as he is relatively young, and this is his first season in the professional ranks of Formula One. He's also a very quick study, for the most part, with the exception of car setup (more on that later).
Lewis has done very well in his rookie season, and while there's no question that his personal skill and talent are major contributing factors, we cannot forget the benefit he has received from being teamed with one of the top two constructors, and with the two-time world champion, Fernando Alonso, who is also an amazing natural talent.
As we've seen in the last few GPs, Alonso was either holding back something all season, getting used to the McLaren car (unlikely), or he really did get a "pass" from McLaren that lets him not share setup with Lewis. This could be Lewis' achilles heel, as it were, as an F1 driver; lack of experience with effective vehicle setup for the various tracks. Ultimately, this is likely part of what Fernando was suggesting when he said he delivered 6/10ths pace to McLaren, but got nothing in return.
Anyway, I think Lewis has a great future in F1. I think a good experience for Lewis would be to drive for ProDrive next season, giving him time to really learn on his own how to setup his car, and earn genuine respect and experience in F1. After a year with ProDrive, then drop him back into McLaren.

Lewis Hamilton has proven to be a great driver and he has not allowed the title of rookie to stop him from doing what he was hired to do and driving as good as many of the veterans in F1. With 3 wins, 11 podium finishes and 4 pole positions this season he has proven to be a solid driver and reliable. He has stood behind his team and even teammate Alonso and supported them through this rough patch that McLaren has been through, as long as he remains dedicated and focused I feel that he will be able to win this season as as a rookie and continue with McLaren to win more championships. He seems to know his role and has proven to be a great driver, his teammate Alonso and the entire F1 has been awed and shocked at his brilliance as a rookie an seems sure to continue on for many years. Hopefully the rift between Alonso and McLaren will be solved and the fines and penaltys imposed on McLaren will not affect his next season ability to compete and prove himself the same way he has done this season.

Calm, mature and professional at all times, comes over as a nice kid, i hope he wins the title.
However. . . .
I was very disappointed with his performance at Spa, a track where I judge drivers' brilliance and racecraft, both of which were lacking to be frank.
Unfortunately and typically, us Brits are jumping onto the bandwagon 'Saviour of F1' 'Next British Champ' etc, give him a break! Is there any wonder there is a bit of Lewis fatigue, im sure he's sick of it too.
He is good, but with all respect, it is his first season and given the car and the breaks the superb Kubica would show him a thing or two

Hamilton is a great driver. From watching him you think is he really a rookie? He sure does not drive like one. And yes he is a very mature calm young driver unlike his crybaby two-time defending champ teammate Alonso. He also is so honest and polite and according to me always tells the truth. Yes he does complain sometimes but he does in such a kind manner you hardly notice. Alonso? Complains like a child. I hope Alonso loses his seat and has to drive for Prodrive. That would be total embarrassment. He also has given British fans renewed confidence in F1 racing something Button was not able to do and DC only when he was a McLaren but even then he did nothing impressive. I really hope he wins the championship over that Alonso jerk.

A good driver but he is starting to act like he's the F1 King. Good PR and has better attitude than Alonso but he's starting to say not-so-good things about Alonso. He definitely has world champion material and is probably the best rookie in F1 history.

So mature for his years. Calm, precise and probably the best driver ever. He makes Alonso look like a child!!!
When Alonso is sacked at the end of the season and cant get another ride he will no doubt try and blame Hamilton. That of course is if Alonso has not killed himself or Hamilton by his stupid and dangerous driving.
Time F1 did the same as the police checking their firearms officers and looked at the dangers of an unstable personality. Alonso would never race again.
Hamilton will rise above everything and prove himself again and again!!!

Hamilton is an excellent driver and a decent bloke with it. I once saw him racing in F3 against Bruno Senna at Donington Park a couple of years ago and he was simply awesome, he took the corner like he was on rails. I will not be surprised if he wins the championship this year.
