If you take from me to give to someone else, it is theft. There is no other explanation and it is NOT freedom.

Statistics prove that conservatives give more time and money to charity (church donations primarily) than “progressives”.

Progressives claim to care about the poor but, don’t give as much as those who are opposed to government mandated charity.

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse University professor Arthur C. Brooks is about to become the darling of the religious right in America -- and it's making him nervous.

The child of academics, raised in a liberal household and educated in the liberal arts, Brooks has written a book that concludes religious conservatives donate far more money than secular liberals to all sorts of charitable activities, irrespective of income.

We should be taxed to keep our nations infrastructure up and running. That’s common freaking sense and the extent to what a government should do in taxation, anything else is socialism, the nanny state.

We should not be taxed to help any individuals financially. That should be a FREE CHOICE.

Progressives have an agenda that barely includes the poor anymore. The poor is their "front" to bait the ones who care. Their agenda is pure socialism, in all its extremes, including eventually, a necessary rewrite of the US Constitution, because it will not work for their schemes.

Currently, Progressives are trying to disenfranchise freedom of religion in our nation, and they are gaining popularity with this, by pointing consistently to hypocrites in the mix.

Having grown up in Christianity, I am saddened that we live in such a harsh society, personally. That the Left, who wants total freedom to live morally lawless, can bring about their desire by holding the lawful's feet to the fire.

The majority of lawful Americans need more Grace and less law. Instead, we are getting more law. Thanks, Libs.

Well What is your connection between those who give more (conservative) and health care. I have yet to see the clergy offering free health care for patients? that's right most of the money goes in promiting the good word in various nations across the world ... but very little for the American citizens. That being said taking from someone to give to someone else ... you are probably talking about the taxe for those who make more than 250,000 a year? you find that wrong do you? how do you measure the value of ones life? do you think it is fair that a guy who makes 250,000 a year just because he had the priviledge to go to college can afford health care coverage but someone who makes only 35,000 a year yet work his tail off and is as important is not more then the previous one cannot afford to pay for health insurance?
Many seem to forget that it is thanks to those many who make 30,000 that one guy can make 250,000.
I think the universal health care IS a great idea and i think that the tax break for the rich should be canceled.

No offense dude but if you work you are taxed, which is taking something from you. And if you are taxed I can guarantee that at least some of the money that is taxed off of you is not spent on you. You've been robbed dude!

I'd like a link to your statistics too, because anyone can make something up without proof.

"Statistics show that if the U.S. continues on its current track of individualistic heath insurance coverages and exponential price increases that cover only those who can afford high priced care, buy 2025 YOU and everyone in your immediate family will suffer from many debilitating illnesses caused by pollution, where you will be unable to work and will be too weak to move other then to cough up blood and **** off the side of your bed. Since you're entire family will be crippled, none of you will be able to afford the proper care you need so you will all die."

Good riddance.

Huh? What are you talking about???

Do you mean the freedom to die without health-care?

Why do conservatives like the idea of getting handouts from the random chaos of the charity markets, rather than a more efficient system managed by and for the People? It's almost as if conservatives have forgotten what democratic freedom is really all about.

Mandates like car insurance are opening precedents that can be interpreted in numerous negative ways. Health care in my opinion starts at the core with Doctors, drug companies, hospitals, insurance funds and each piece of a wealthy pie few may let go of easily. Look into Libby CEO bennies and other drug benefactors? BIG bucks here.

I will look into this progressives statement. Thank you for the heads up.

The same can be said for all the taxes that Americans pay. Taxes that pay for children's education, your military forces, etc.

There are only two guarantees in life; death and taxes.

Some people say "If your job doesn't give you health insurance, than find a job that does." You and I both know that that is easier said than done. Especially if you live in places where the economy is going straight to hell, like Michigan.

I hope that one say you aren't in a medical bind without private health care. Or need assistance in some other way because you can't afford it for some reason. Otherwise you will feel inequities people like you fight for.

well if you are a conservative, and give so much to those less fortunate than you, then 'giving' everyone free healthcare should make you feel lighthearted.

certain services should NOT be corporate - police, fire department, ambulances etc.

basically, where ever life and death is the main concern, then corporate profits can't be a part of the picture.

look to adding healthcare to that list shortly...

I'm a conservative who works in one of the fields of health care. The poor women and children have insurance for treatment, men don't. Some who are just above the means testing line can't afford treatment.

I do limited pro bono work as my way to give something back. There are lots like me out there. We don't need to socialize health care.

Liberals, you should give your own money instead of pitting the classes against each other in this country.

The best democracies have publicly funded healthcare.
Would you be happy with a police force that you had to pay to investigate every time you were burgled.
