Unless they learn to work the doors and start raiding the fridge and watching Pay Per View while he's away, I don't see a problem with it.

A constant every day feeding is NOT a good habit. They realize a daily buffet handy, could tear screens, etc.. apart if missed a daily food. Lose their human fear and could lose his/her life from another human. Daily feeding throws out his/her natural instinct to find food on his/her own.
If toss a couple pieces out once a week is different than making animal dependent on feeder.

i am against feeding all wild animals. Not only does it make the dependent on humans for food (they will stop trying to get it themselves if somebody puts out a buffet for them every day!), they also lose the fear of humans. This can turn them into dangerous pests that would have to be dealt with.
i say let them be!

It's not the best idea to be honest. Once he gives it food it will keep coming back he might even get attached to it which since he keeps feeding him I think he is getting slightly attached.

happydawg,
Small rodents, such as hamsters, squirrels, chipmunks, mice, and rabbits, do not typically carry rabies.
i agree that feeding them makes them dependent on humans. that is not a good thing.
i would stop this practice soon.
