First off I am sorry for your diagnosis. There is still lots of women who conceive with PCOS. Clomid is not a bad fertility drug and works wonders for many women. There is only a 8% chance of you conceiving twins. If you do end up with twins consider it a blessing in disguise. Many women can't even get pregnant so if you WERE to have twins it would be wonderful................Hard but worth it.
My side effects on Clomid aren't bad either, I have hot flashes and some headaches but that could be due to my period also.
Good luck and don't be afraid to ask questions on here about Clomid.

First, if you aren't already doing so, you need to see a fertility specialist. Second, Clomid increases your chances for multiples very little. Injectible medications are much more associated with a high rate of multiples. Clomid isn't your only option! Some women with PCOS ovulate while taking Metformin alone, which causes no increase in the rate of multiples. There is also Femara, which acts in much the same way that Clomid, but with less incidence of multiple births.

Ok i now how you feel..but let look at the as a good thing because now you know what the problem is and now you can fix it. And yes you have a high rate of more...but thats how it is with PCOS..remember you have to look for a + side of this thats what i did. and i am good.Your feels are normal right know because you just found out but later you you feel better give your self time.. and go online to soulcyster it it a surport group of pcos and it helps have a real person to talk to that know how you well.and you can do the IUI instead of IVF..
All bodys are diff. I clomid/famara med is taken at different times. Some take it CD 1-5 and some take it CD 3-7. Dr say you have you big O 5-9 days after the lasts pill is taken. So keep track of you O days.
(PS if i was you i would also keep track of how long it takes for the lh surg to leave your body also because when you have a + lh surg form the Ovulation kit that mean you will ovulated 24-36 hr after the + test. If you keep testing after you get a + test you will know you fert. days. That will put you on the fast track to MOMMYVILLE..)

i also have pos... but took clomid for my second child after a disappointing three years of unsuccessful trying!!!
clomid helped us with ben and sydney was conceived a year later - surprise... i took metformin as well as progesterone and clomid... yes there is a possibility of having twins, but the chances on clomid are lower than most people think (unless of course, multiples naturally run in your family)...
i know the feeling of depression each and every month and i believe that if we didn't opt to go with the clomid (which you take only one a day for the first five days of your period), then we would have had david only and we would have missed out on our younger kids (personalities!)...
my husband and dr and i discussed our options and we decided at the time to try clomid and if that didn't work, then no ivf... but that was our decision...
i hope this helped you... good luck in whatever you decide :)

Hey, I am currently on clomid because off pcos, not everyone seems to get a side effect of a clomid, but the risk in multiples are real low, ladies with pcos aren't ovulating on their owns and need help from fertility drugs or clomid, I did 3 rounds of clomid 50mg (2cylces) 100mg (1cycle), now this month I am taking folic acid, Materna, clomid 100mg, and metformin, and I also got my period induce with provera because of irreguler periods

when i was 17 (26 now) i was diagnosed with POS and even had one of my ovaries removed. when i was 23, me and my husband wanted a baby. my doctor gave me clomid in july 2003. i took one pill. i decided that if God wanted me to have a baby then i was going to with the use of fertility drugs. my doctor also told me that i would never have a child with in-vitro or fertility drugs. i left it all up to God and prayed for a baby. in feb. 2004, i was pregnant. so about 7 months after my doctor told me i would never have a child without fertility drugs, i was pregnant and all it took was a prayer and faith in God.

It didn't take faith in God, it took faith in your husbands sperm and the chance that you had a fertile egg. God didn't impregnate you, your husband did ;)
My sister was diagnosed at 16 with PCOS, and was told of the high risk of multiples with the medications and the high risk of being infertile.
Turns out she ovulates with TWO fertile eggs each month.
She's probably able to get pregnant.
Take the medication if you wish to do so and have faith in YOURSELF for YOU and your partner are the only ones who can get you pregnant.
:)
