You bought a pretty powerful laptop with decent graphics. It more than meets the minimum system requirement of that game.Try disabling most of your unnecessary startups when playing the game. Also try reducing game quality settings. It may have defaulted to a high setting after the restart.

If your laptop is new then its because it probably runs Vista. My boyfriend and I bought new Toshiba laptops at the beginning of summer and he tried to put his C&C The First Decade game onto it. It works...to an extent. He used a patch for it. If you go to the C&C website you might find a patch that will fx your problem, if not, its because Vista has a lot of bugs in it and not many programs are compatible with it. Its quite annoying really and the only thing left for you to do is put it onto a computer that runs Windows XP or lower. I don't reccomend downgrading your laptop to XP because all the software inside your laptop like the DuoCore processor is made specifically for Vista and won't run otherwise.

Did it come with Vista on it? If so, you can send it back to dell and ask them to send you the same laptop with XP installed on it. You won't be getting good gaming from Vista for at lest another year.

Hope that helps :)

Because otherwise, it is a pretty powerful machine.

Your laptop is ok.

If you are on windows vista then it alone hogs up a lot of system power. Try lowering down the graphic settings it ll help in reducing the lag.
