yes because you never know for sure. If I was going to put up any money for anyone's defense, I'd be 100% sure that they were innocent. I'd have absolutely no doubt. Can he say that?

When the Maddie fund is spending just 80,000 to find her I personally think it is sick!!!
Why did he not spend that money on a good detective or to boost the hunt for Madeleine. Why are the parents accepting it and not spending it to find their daughter?
It is simply a celebrity/class thing.
Lets face it whoever is responsible for Maddies disappearance must be jumping up and down with glee the way the parents and people like Branson are taking all the attention away from finding her!!!
It is only the ordinary person in the street that seems interested in finding Madeleine now so come on people give these idiots a push and shout out loud and clear - find Madeleine!!!!!!

Branson obviously feels they are innocent, only a fool would part with that kind of money, and I am sure you will all agree Mr Branson is no fool, for the record I have always said that I do not believe they are guilty

It's his money to do as he wishes with. He must believe they are innocent as do a lot of other people.I can't believe the story about the hair.We have a laugh each time we go on holiday as no matter how clean our clothes, car, and suitcases are we always find some of our cats hair somewhere .These people have been set up and I'm glad Branson is sticking up for them it needs more people like him to do so and stop the cruel media baying for blood.

He is a fool to put up that kind of money for them. I don't know whether I believe they did it or not. I'll have to wait and see but that money could be used for a lot more constructive purposes than wasting it on them. He wants to throw it away, throw a bit my way. I wouldn't even need all that but if I got it, I'd share.

I think he`s pompous,i`m afraid.Since when has he been a psychologist? If i can hussle men into having a lap dance just by being nice who`s to say these two ain't con artists, just simply because he has spoken to them he can`t determine what kind of people they are.I mean all the women that have been conned by mister flipping perfect who inevitably turns out to be Mr wrong.

He does not know these people well enough to say they had no part in this case. The problem is that it makes any trial very biased now. If they were guilty the jury would be swayed by the backing of such a well known celebrity. He would do better to put it up as reward money and get the private eyes working on it.

If he hadn't of, no doubt another source would have. Some people think its all for publicity, although I think he would have to be pretty sure of them before he had his name dragged through the mud for supporting potentially guilty people.
The money means nothing to him, he has buckets of the stuff, and the publicity is hardly going to make him look like a saint as the media and general public aren't showing much support for the Mccanns so this would lead me to believe he is doing it because he wants to help them and support them through the legal battle they inevitably face.

He is free to do with his money as he chooses.
I have to say though, it's made me slightly less of an anti-McCann, as Branson wouldn't hitch himself to a waggon that was about to go over a cliff...

Richard Branson built up the Virgin empire from scratch so I dont think he is a fool and I think he must have pretty shrewd judgement or maybe he just hates lynch mobs.

Tbh, that's probably what Branson gives his kids every week as pocket money.
He'll probably earn that back in a few days.
And let's face it, it's a good cause.
