If the wireless device is in your PC, and Sprint gives the address to you upon connection, you're probably stuck with it.

I can't think of a way to change the IP used with a wireless broadband connection... It doesn't work like regular Wi-Fi - it's more like dialup.

If you happen to reconnect to the service and get a different address, you might luck out. But if you're trying to set one of your own choosing, that's not likely to work.

Same way, wireless or not. This is without a router (gateway). If you have a router it can/should be done through the router.

Click the Start menu button on the Windows taskbar.

Click Run... on this menu.

If the computer is holding a current IP address, type 'cmd' (without the quotes) in the text box that appears. A command prompt window appears on the screen.

Type 'ipconfig' (without the quotes) to view the status of the computer's IP address(es). Not really necessary step.

If the computer is holding a current IP address, type 'ipconfig /release' to let go of the address.

Type 'ipconfig /renew' to obtain a new IP address (whether or not the computer is holding a current address).

Restarting your router often gives a new ip adress, or re-establashing your connection to the router also sometimes helps.
