The causes of homosexuality are controversial, but we do know that homosexuality is not genetic and people who are born homosexual are only about 1% of the homosexual population.
I believe that people learn to be homosexual. At a younger age they do it for attention. However, the sexual stimulation is enough of a reward to draw individuals back over an over again.
Once they justify the atrocity of nature they are committing by imagining that its natural, and that they were born that way, then they come out of the closet.
However, homosexuality is not a physical disease, its a mental disorder.
There is no question that a penis is supposed to fit inside a vagina, not an anus. Therefore there is no question that homosexuality is unnatural. And despite what some would have you believe, it does not occur in nature.

Homosexuality is natural - and people are born that way. However, some people take a while to be outwardly homosexual because there are so many social taboos associated with it. When you were growing up, I'll bet nobody told you it was ok to be attracted to the same sex. It's put forward that a man goes with a woman. For people coming from intolerant communities, it takes a lot of strength to "come out," especially to your parents. But everyone I've talked to said they always knew, even when they were little.

People do not become homosexual, they just are. Does that confuse you?

It's impossible to become homosexual. Either you feel it or you don't. Like, if you hated country music or broccoli, you might tolerate it for awhile, but you wouldn't one day decide to proclaim to gospel of Garth Brooks and produce.
Many people suppress their feelings for years because of society's low acceptance level of being gay. When people come out, they're not making a decision to like guys/girls, they're telling the world what they've always felt.
If you're talking about pre-natal situations, then you should specify that, but I don't think anyone really knows what makes one person gay, another bi, and another straight.

Most people feel we are born this way and that after a while we realize that was are gay and come out of the closet. So while to an outsider it might appear as if we are just choosing to be gay what we are really doing is choosing to live our lives honestly.

That is the way I feel. I only had attraction to other boys while growing up. But I saw that boys date girls and everything around me re-emphasized that idea. So I felt like there was something wrong with me and I internalized my feelings and tried to do what I thought was expected of me.

Then as I actually grew up and was able to trust my own feelings I came out. However I was gay from birth.

I don't know for sure if it's genetic or a choice, but I know what I like. Maybe, I choose to go with what I like, I have always liked guys, so, I go with it. It's part of the Declaration of Independence, that "pursuit of happiness" thing. Being gay and having gay activities makes me happy so I pursue it vigorously.

No wonder you're confused - people don't become gay any more than people become straight. It's just the way they are.

Just think of it as something like eye colour, you're born with it and you can't change it (unless you're bi :P )
