It really depends what you like.
1) New York is a great city to live but you must have a lot of $$ to fully enjoy since it's sooooo expensive
2) San Francisco is beautiful specially to raise a family
3) Miami and some other towns around are nice if you like and enjoy living with Latin people everywhere (I do); learn spanish, and like the sun.
4) Boston: quiet and really nice too and not as expensive as New York
5) Los Angeles: be aware of your need to be in traffice for hours, etc...

I've travelled all over the country as part of my work. The most beautiful place I've ever been is the Northern California coast near the Oregon border. Ocean on one side of you and primordial redwood forest on the other. The only place in the world where I feel truly spiritual.
And it's fairly close to San Francisco, which is the most beautiful city in the U.S.

You should totally see the area near the Poconos in PA. There is a town called Bethleham.....all around that is is the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen, and I have seen a lot! I also have a friend in Portland that says Oregan has wonderful scenery. Portland is also one of the top five "green" cities to live in. Hope that helps and good luck on moving.

Central Florida, because of the Florida Springs in the region. Many of the springs here give off a turquoise color, which makes these springs stand out. Another plus is that you would be somewhat close to a metropolitan area (Orlando) if you had to go shopping for something specific, and then there's Disneyworld close by too, which would be a plus if you have kids.

The beautiful back woods of Tennessee. Have you ever seen The Smokey Mountains of Tennessee ? Clean rolling streams filled with big rocks and undisturbed forest. Breathtaking.

Depends on what your looking for. Beach - South Padre, TX. Lake - Provo, Utah. Mountains - Nashville, TN or Denver, CO. I think it depends on what your looking for.
I think San Antonio, Indianapolis, and Flagstaff are great. I would like to live in New York, LA and Vegas for a short while less than a year in each to to experience it all.

Beauty is only geographical? Are you ok with ice and snow?
Northern New Mexico is very beautiful, but the people aren't so great, Montana is beautiful, but its cold.
Florida is beautiful, but there are Hurricanes.
Anyplace can be beautiful with the right mindset.

Lots of places...try findyourspot.com. I used this when I decided to move a couple of years ago and it led me to the perfect spot! There's a questionnaire that covers lots of issues related to you, your beliefs, preferences, yada yada...and comes up with around 20 spots that it recommends as a good fit for you. Cool site.
