As a female whose weight has fluctuated a *lot* since age 14, I've noticed that although more guys asked me out when my weight has been 'down' these weren't necessarilly 'better' or even 'cuter' guys than I was meeting when my weight was 'up.'
Sometimes a guy who had hardly spoken to me when I weighed more would suddenly start paying *lots* of attention & complements after I'd lost some weight-- I *never* went out with those guys b/c they were obviously only seeing what was on the outside & it kind of offended me. I'm the same person no matter what I weigh.
These days I watch my weight to stay healthy, not so I'll conform to a cookie-cutter standard of what I'm 'supposed' to look like & this is much more of a motivator. My SO loves *me* no matter which way the wind blows, or werever the dial on my scales point ;-)

Liz, I don't think you understand men--ha! Girl, men will date a big girl even if she is not as pretty as a smaller girl...if the big girl has a wonderful personality, makes the guy feel great about himself, is poised and confident, etc.
AND there are plenty of guys who would not date a smaller, prettier girl if she is petty, mean, nasty, dumb, snobbish, or otherwise a turn-off.
Sure, looks matter to most guys. But that's just a PART of what matters. Personality, laughter, and, frankly, their take on what sort of friend, girlfriend, wife, mother, and sexual partner you would be, all play a role.
A guy just looking for a one-night stand MAY opts for the smaller girl. But a guy looking for a real relationship may very well opt for the larger, but higher-quality young lady.
So don't think that big girl only has a chance if a skinnier girl is "plain." Not by a long shot! A big girl can hold her own if:
If she takes time to make herself appealing (dressing nice, smelling nice, lovely hair, shaved legs, the works).
If she has a bouyant personality that makes the guy enjoy his time with her.
If she is not "easy," as in acting like she will DO ANYTHING so long as a guy will date her. Now, she shouldn't act like she is "sex-less," but neither should she act like she's skanky. She should come across, without using words, as someone who can do wonders in the bedroom and will go to any distance sexually to please any man who captures her heart.
But she should not act like that is something that will happen just because someone took her to a movie and a restaurant.
She can be "selective" without being falsely hard-to-get. Otherwise, she gets used. And that's not what any girl wants.

I personally don't see this as 100% true. There are plenty of guys that are with and love their average to plus size women. Yeah it is for the most part but the biggest reason is because of shows like "Americas Next Top Model" and others like "What not to Wear." Shows like this are watched and supported by all kinds of women and they keep them on the air by watching them regularly. These shows are depicting what is "beauty" and what is "not accepted" as beautiful. I have seen times in many shows like this where they say "why are you wearing this? It makes you look big! Ware this 200 dollar dress, 100 dollar scarf 150 dollar top and you will look good finally." WHO CARES! People should look good no matter what! I am a guy and I find women that have a great attitude very very cute or very good looking. No matter what size they are. And on the other hand I can see a female that is very slim and then watch them light up a smoke or act like a tramp or have the worse attitude and it makes them look hideous. The biggest thing I think that is causing this is the media showing you what is "beautiful" and us letting them.

Looks are only a small part of what i was looking for.....
I found a fine young thing that makes me happy!
She is a nice person,funny and really tries to take care of me and her 3 boys.
By the way she has a good shape...... and nice (_(_) !!!!

Absolutely, even if they were both pretty I could certainly make that choice. Many men enjoy women with real curves. We like to feel soft flesh not skin and bones.

well, im a girl but i think some guys are very shallow and wouldnt date the bigger ones because of theyre looks.

I am a woman and I can tell you that there certainly is men out there who will date a larger woman. God Bless the Men.
