My computer speakers just stopped working. Should I try and buy new connecter cables, or just accept the fact that over 16 years is a good life?

Speakers today are smaller, cheaper, and have better fidelity. I was amazed when I switched my 15+ year old speakers to a new set. The sound quality these days is much better. You've got your money's worth.

Speakers dont tend to have an age limit it depends how you look after them.

Say if you spend £20 on some id exspect them to last 5+ years where as a more exspencive speakers if i looked after them well would probly last me 20+ years!

So to answere your question 16 years is a good life so id go ahead and by some new ones!

16 years is very good already. Usually speakers nowadays don't last long, not because they start dying, but because people replace them with better ones when they feel like it. I've gone through 4 sets of desktop computer speakers and 7 sets of earphones/headphones in the last 5 years. Only because of performance and style.

I'd replace them. You can get a really nice set for 30-40 anymore.
