This may not be what you want to hear, but you really do get what you pay for when buying a musical instrument. If it's your first time trying to play guitar and you know someone that has one you can borrow- try that first. If you skimp on this investment, and that's truly what it is- you may get frustrated with it's bad sound quality and ability to stay in tune and end up quitting for all the wrong reasons. As a musician and former music store manager, I urge you to save up your money and buy from a reputable dealer in your area- do not buy anything YOU haven't played. Don't pay less than $100 or more than $250 for your first guitar, and buy new! Stick w/ name brands that have the best warranties as well, like Fender, Yamaha, and Takamine- they all have great entry level guitars for your money!

This is an impossible question when you think about it. Where in Ontario? Ontario is massive.
That being said, second hand shops are your best bet. Even Ebay. Music stores are really expensive depending on the brand.

yard sales, flea markets, or classified ads would probably be your best bet.
