This is nothing to ignore...He is having bad head pains because his body is trying to tell him something isn't right....my 17 old daughter's friend just lost her mother who had a terrible headache...turns out she had a brain aneurysm and it killed her.

I suffer from migraine, which have symptoms similar to what you are describing in your husband. painkillers didn't work, and often made the pain worse. I was unaware that I was suffering from migraine until it was diagnosed by my Dr, and it took trying several combinations of treatment till i found something that worked. perhaps your husband is afraid that he has something serious, which is why he doesnt want to see the dr. explain that it is probably something treatable, which will be easy to deal with, but unless he sees a proffesional the problem wont go away and will eventually interfere with his life and work.

he really needs to calm down and see a doc.
if he's a work freak then the headache is probably caused by the stress from work, if you can't arrange for a home visit from the doc, then why don't you suggest a couple of days away together, just the two of you, don't need to go anywhere expensive, just down to the coast or something.
see how he feels after that, then you will, know for sure.

I have always told my husband and children that if you don't intend to do anything about it, then just stop whining about it. You have done your part many times and cannot force him to go. Maybe if he realizes you are not listening to his complaints any more, he will take appropriate action. Make sure if he tells you to call for the appointment, that you tell him no and have him make his own and cancel his own all by himself. That way, if he hurts, he can only blame himself.

It probably is stress, as some other people are saying. However, I'd like to add another possibility to point out the seriousness of severe, frequent head pains: brain tumors. One way of being forced not to have to go to work is your wife making you go to the doctor. Another way is death.

WELL, I THINK WE ALL KNOW HOW BAD A VERY BAD HEADACHE CAN FEEL. IF SOMEONE HAD MADE AN APPOINTMENT THEN YOU WOULD GO, IF IT WAS THAT BAD, THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO TO MAKE HIM GO TO THE DOCS, SO I WOULD CALL HIS BLUFF, I WOULD TELL HIM IT CANT BE AS BAD AS YOU SAY OR YOU WOULD DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT.

there are so many new illnesses and cancers popping up these days til you cant just let even a daily headache slide by. it could be serious. you just really gotta convence him to go. it may be nothing at all but you would rather be safe than sorry

you make him go. make the appointment yourself and pick him up to take him. if you both miss work, who cares. it's better than being a widow. my mom had to do the same thing with my father.
