Is there a way to direct connect to a computer on your network to download a file?

my rooomate has some large database files i need to get from him, we share a wirless connection through a router. is there anyway way i can type his ip address or something and connect to his computer and download the stuff rather than buying some CD-Rs and burning them?

Setup a wireless network on both systems. Then you can share between them. Make sure your Workgroup name is the same and have names for the PCs. Then make a sharing folder specifically for sharing on each PC.
