Yes, it has always brought me alot of joy & pleasure to see a smile on someone else's face.

Yes, I think I do. I love to see the look on someones face when they are surprised with a gift. I love the feeling it gives me to see a loved one or a stranger smile with happiness. That doesn't mean I don't like gifts, but I am of the mind that if I want some thing, be it a $200 dollar bottle of perfume or a new bedroom suit, I just buy it myself, I have some issue with feeling ingratiated to anyone, so yes I would rather give than receive.
