my dear zigzag
of course i was reffering to you blocking me
how can you say that i attack people who have a diffrent opinion than mine
when what you do is much worse: you block people whom opinions you dont like
according to my opinion , i should respond like that to the person that answers my question about (again according to my opinion) the man (poludwras) who is responsible for the death of 65 and the burning of 2.000.000 acres of forest, in a so (one more time again according to my opinion) immature way
but as i believe, iam alowwed to express my opinion (correct me if iam wrong)
and to answer back to the people with whose answers i dont agree with
this is what i believe to be DEMOCRACY
an i dont think iam attacking by saying shame on you,
i didnt swear or smth
on the contrary you cant tollerate someone having a diffrent opinion than yours and you simply block them
and then you talk about "ethnikh omopsuxia"

of course it is everyone right to block whoever they want
i also have had many of my questions deleted
but i didnt have anyone blocked because may be he was giving me thumbs down,
i want to know what people i dont agree with say, because i am a mature person
and i also hope that you dont imply me giving thumbs down or reporting other Greeks,
cause i couldnt care less for becoming top contributor or whatever else you may imply

my dear Leonarda
i consider you ,to be one of the nicest and sensitive people in the greek section, and it really took me by surprise you saying that the same things have happened with the fire of penteli, because as you have already posted the fires of peloponissos and evoia this summer were the most disastrous since the 2nd.W.W. and cost the lives of 65 compatriots of ours
and by your answer i got the impression, that you sort of "forgot" what happened
and that freaked me out because i wasnt expecting that kind of answer from you
maybe ,my impression was wrong, if so iam sorry, and i would really like you to explain to me what you meant
i dont care about yours (or other people's)
political beliefs and i would like to hear other people's thoughs
that is why i dont have other people blocked
your brother, spoke to me in a very insulting way
and he compared me to you , as if he knows me or what i have done
and of course has blocked me
but still answering my question

you dont allow me to talk to you and you have the nerves to telling me what to do?

You are correct of course!
We as Greeks have hardly ever in our history(except against adversity) been united.
It is in our nature to want to debate and argue. It is a human trait that in the past has not only been our strength(development of philosophy) but also our greatest weakness.
I read all the comments above me and see that as a people we will never change. That is who we are and it is not all bad,we feel empowered when we argue. We feel alive with passion!
On the down side ,we do not support each other in the same way that the Jews do for example and therefore as a nation have not been as successful.I have hopes that the new generation is different and can see past the one upmanship that has been the old generations hallmark!

Personally,i didnt block you,and i never reported any greek. The opposite, my biggest haters are the greeks as i discovered.
Concerning the greek section, i felt disappointed, because i always defended Greece, and not only i lost contacts from other nationalities, but also i got reported many times. And my contribution i tried always to give it, it doesnt matter if they like it or not.
I really can not understand where the problem is with me.And i am really sad to realise it.I had to block users, and this, because i observed their behaviour, and i am really sad for this.
But when i give a same answer with another and i suddenly get 3 thumbs down, while the other has 3 up, with the same answer exactly, dont tell me that this come from foreigners..It doesnt matter..
I never insulted anyone, and in other sections i never faced this problem, the opposite,i always tried to defend the greeks, against hard also insults.
What made me really sad too, it was your attack, because i was always answering your questions, and always been near you when you were giving all your soul for national topics too..And you attacked me hard, because i expressed an opinion, telling you that any government, whatever it would be,the right, the left, the socialist would ahve acted like that, because it is a short time since the fires and the elections, and we have to see in the next days what they are going to do with the new reforms..We are just expecting, we didnt make them Kings..However, i m not angry,as i have never been with any greek, but i get sad to see my own compatriots, and especially persons i was considering friends to attack me like that...And i can assure you that the only report i did, it was an insult for the greek women in another section..
A last comment...I lately hear so much about the top contributors.Guys, I am not registered in the english one,i am in the italian, and the ''top contributor''i got it from there, before starting my participation here. So, needless for some people(i dont mean you)to think that i ''stole''their points..Then i m not between the top 10 answerers here..
I really got disappointed, but the main reason is one..I never harmed anyone..And i am sad of their behaviour...
I really dont want any apologise from anyone. What i want is my peace and some people to understand that we are not hre to get points. If we have some more, it is because we are older users, and personally, i dont have them from my participation in the greek section/english.I repeat i dont speak abou you, i speak about those who dont lose the chance to express their personal ''antipatheia''to me

girl24, this is a free country, at least where I am it is, and we choose our contacts according to our liking. I am free to associate with whomever I please, and to exclude those people who are rude and annoying, regardless if they are Greek. However, this does not mean that the Greeks are not united. Being united does NOT mean that we must always agree or that we must all be on each other's contact lists. As I'm sure you know, despite our differences of opinion and our love of argument, GREEKS ALWAYS COME TOGETHER in time of need.

There must be a reason dear..
If you speak about me,i just block those who dont show a nice behaviour and attack people especially their compatriots..
Lately it has happened this. The team was working well, and we received different comments, because some of us are older users and according to some others we want to show ourselves..
The bad is coming from our section, and it has happened lately..
Greeks receive from their own compatriots, thumbs down. And since yesterday there are fights about the political parties..
Not only this.
Many accuse the greek section that it works as a forum, questions of mine have been deleted too..I disagree as others with greek users, but i never report my compatriots. If i see them doing questions which provock conflicts i just block them, that s all...And it is my right to do it, since i see so much hatred around.
I got surprised when i saw ''shame on you'' to some users and comments like that, when some others are waiting for this in order to attack the greeks. Now do you think that this question is not provocking the haters of Greece?
If we want to be patriots, we have to show it by other ways, and not by attacking the people who dont have the same opinions with us...
Or you want me to mention the names of the people who are always attacked in our section without reason?

Dear friend,
According to this notion, if one is a Greek, he/she should be automatically granted free rights to vandalism, abused communication and inappropriate interpersonal skills.
Doesn't make much sense. Does it?
On the other hand, we should always favor freedom of speech. No matter nationalities, personal aesthetics or current perceptions on "must" and "must not"...
Then again, we are not here to get united. Truly against what? and who? I guess we are here to have fun.
Greeks and non-Greeks alike.
take care

well if that greek is insulting people and is causing problems then people are forced to block these human beens that are greek. and of course they also question themselves why do these people have to force them to do this action. i mean if someone is making you feel bad you cant just let him go on you got to stop him with some way and tht way is to block him/her.

First of all,I don't see the question you are reffering to anywhere so I guess it has been deleted (again.....).
Personally i have never blocked somebody and never reported anybody, cause I said to myself from the beginning of my participation in Y! Answers that I don't want to be someone to judge others, since I think their words and actions speak of themselves.I will only block/report someone if the insults get personal, concerning me or my family, which, thank god hasn't happened (yet).I always try to answer in a civilized matter,I try not to insult anybody,of course I know I might upset somebody with my opinions but I try not to provoke anybody.
I posted a question/statement about our national basketball team a few days ago and it got reported.I do not know who reported it,nor do I want to know, since it doesn't matter to me if it was a Greek or not.I don't think that being of the same nationality should immediaterly grand us a "free pass" or that it means that somebody can't disagree with me,or even report me.I think that should be self-evident just by being humans and participating in a community where freedom of speech is a given(to me at least).I think everybody is entitled to his/hers opinion and also everybody should have a choice who they block or not, regardless of their nationality.I mean, you can't be friends or like everybody or hang out with them or have conversations with them in real life, why do you expect this to happen in an online community where real people participate? If somebody didn't like me,or the things I say I would like him to block me instead of comming to my questions and answering them only to provoke or upset me.
My advise to you:In this world we live in it is impossible that we please everyone or that we are liked by everyone.Continue to participate in this section for as long as it pleases you, continue to express your opinions and stop dealing with who blocked/reported you since it won't get you anywhere...
Edit:I just saw that the question isn't deleted, just resolved, which is kinda natural since i'm sure the person who asked it was to afraid to leave it there longer cause I'm sure it would get reported...things have been too weird here lately,it's sad...

I don't understand , we don't have the right to write our opinion here?
Until yesterday i didn't have any of my questions reported. I was thinking that when this will happen to me probably it would be someone from an other country.
But it was a Greek who didn't like my comment about the new Government.
What's happening with you people? It's so bad to have different opinions? If someone is not ND or PASOK we block him?
Sorry for repeating my answer again and again but mou kakofanike polu !
I guess it's better to stop the questions about politics. WE ,Greeks, continue quarrel about politics !

I did not have any choice but to block you after your having said to me "Shame to you".
I don't want you to answer my questions nor will I answer yours.
And just for the record, speaking out all against my principals, I have offered my volunteer aid for the reconstruction of burnt houses, as I am a civil engineer, apart from the amount I offered, which is highly considerable.
So, do not talk to others about "shame".

I personally have blocked the ones who use objectionable speech, show no respect to the others and their opinion, are waiting for answers to thumb them down upon posted, and report questions like the ones referring to the fires, or even the memory of Pavarotti, because they don't like me as a person who expresses his opinions and points of view even here.
I have the right to do it, and I have the right to chose my contacts too.
