It's hard to save but not impossible. Your best investment would be your education so that you can earn more. Take a hard look at wants vs needs and cut back to save up for your car. Can you move to a place where you won't need a car for a while? Living close to work, school, shops means that you can walk and use public transportation until you are a little more stable. If you are really having a hard time, check to see if you can get help with your education. My savings at 26 is nowhere near what it is now. The thing about youth is that time is on your side. I promise you every penny helps. Make a financial plan and stick to it. Make sacrifices to get to a place where you feel more comfortable. It just takes time. Good luck.

I have several suggestions...

1. Make a strict budget...down to where every dollar is spent and see what can be cut out if any.
2. Use coupons if possible, wait for sales if you need a major appliance.
3. Stop using debt cards and if you don't have the cash on hand don't by the item.
4. Go to the bank and set up a CD or savings account that will automatically deduct a set amount of money into the account every month.
5. Save spare change in a jar. In a years time I saved up close to $500.
One more tip.

6. I forgot to add round stuff up when balancing your check book.

At your age it's a common problem. Keep working hard and trying to save a little. Keep trying to find better jobs and working your way up. It will get better if you work hard.

There was a time when I had nothing and lived in a shack of a house. I'm not a rich man but I can pay my bills and save a little. But I never gave up.

thats more than I have.. I owe over a quater of a million dollars, but have a house, several cars and whatever lse I want.... The key is to have a credit score of over 720 and a job that you have been at for a while.....

You would be much better borrowing money, and just making sure you have enough to cover the minimum monthly payments.. the key here is that you can never make a late payment, becuase your credit rating goes to s h i t and you rates will actually go up....

Who saves anymore anywayz...

Yes it hard to save but when you save alittle at a time, it will acumilated. So don't stop saving. Also if you can try to check with Human Resources where you live and they might help you with some of your bills.

As long as you have a roof over your head and can manage to feed and cloth them you are doing OK. I know things might look hard at times but by having faith things will always work out when you need them most. God Bless you!

At least you have a little bit of money to fall back on, and in these times, that is rare!

I hope things work out well for you... and that you are able to get your car.

I wish you all the best!

Everyone has problems like this.
You have no idea how many people in big houses and fancy cars have no savings whatsoever.

it happens to the best of us, but you are only 26 and have a ways to go, you will be fine just keep saving as much as you can and be grateful for what you have, some people dont have as much as you.
