It has to do with your ability to relax and labor..at night you are resting and relaxed your body goes to business ..during the day you are up and excited and it is making you tense (not to mention your anxiousness) it stops labor

Here are some tips to help you progress your labor along

1. Have a warm bath to help you relax - the more tense you are the longer your body will fight off going into labor

2 Have sex - your husband needs to ejaculate inside of you and he needs to spend a lot of time playing with your nipples - nipple stimulation and a hormone in semen both help induce labor.

3. Lots and lots of walking - no more than an hour at a time (maybe 3 times a day) make sure you take water with you keep hydrated.

4. Eat some good food (thick soup, or a stew), and drink plenty of water - your body will refuse to dilate from any contractions if you are dehydrated.

Lastly do some deep breathing and meditating - your own mental state (being so anxious) can be a cause for your bodies lack of labor.

Good luck

It's a trial run. And a really good sign that baby's on his way. Time the tightenings, and if they are 5 minutes apart for more than an hour, and very consistent, call your dr or head for the hospital. Or, if your water breaks, head for the hospital, too. It'll all be over soon.

this is the begginning of your labor, my sister went through the same thing, your body is pushing the baby more down into the birth canal, i suggest having sex if you want to help things rolling, if your ok with waiting it out then her dr told her to take some calcium, magneseum, its ok if it has zinc too, but this will help also make the contractions real, and if they are the braxton hicks then it will make them stop and help the true labor contractions initiate!! good luck!!
