For those who feel as Greg does, get a hint from my profile. That other country has a form of health care, however the tax's are next to nil, and in 2004, I had two tumors cut off my back, biopsied in the doctors office, and the whole thing/ procedure cost me $45.00 U.S. dollars.

I invite you to be honest. You've obviously done some research. So you know we actually spend more of our GDP on health care, than the countries who do have universal health care. And their systems cover everyone. I know you're already aware of that.

I know that I see American citizens trying to purchase American made meds from Canada, because the Canadian government won't allow the US pharmaceutical companies to rip their citizens off like the US government allows them to rip us off.

I've often wondered, why would an insurance company agree to pay a health care provider more than medicaid or medicare will? That goes against the principles of capitalism.

It is true that people spend quite a bit of money in taxes for healthcare. How Universal Healthcare is less expensive boggles me and I challenge those who claim it does show me the proof.

I recently heard a story that the wife of a Canadian Prime Minister came to the USA for treatment. Why? Because the treatment she needed was not provided in Canada. I am searching for the story on this and I will post it when I find it on my answer.

If they doubled my federal taxes and I got to keep what is being paid for my health insurance, I'd come out ahead.

Plus I'd get better medical care instead of always getting the run around over what treatment I can have or who I can go to.

Thank you, thank you, thank you. Why do people assume that the government will be efficient? We have all heard about the incredible amount of waste that any government amasses. I don't think most people realize just how much they pay in taxes. When you add all the taxes that you pay up, you are paying close to 50 percent of you wages to the government and now they want more. When will it stop? At what point will the populace say "We've had enough"

We'll pump hundreds of billions of dollars into this socialized medicine scheme and they'll throw peanuts at us. We'll be damn glad to get them too.
