Some people say this to you just so you will believe what they are saying in the moment about you. like if he/she says you really are a certain way and you say no i am not, then they will say"I Know you."
Then you seem to question yourself , Am I really that way?
as for me i got mad at people who really think they can just assume things and say that. Especially if they really don't know you that well.
so i question them and say if you know me so well then tell me a little about myself? And also question them with things that they will get wrong about you and then you can say see you really don't know.
If it's someone you are really close to or have shared alot with then they are probably right. It all depends on who they are and there history with you.
but if they are not close to you just find a way of messing with them and showing them that they really don't know what they are talking about.

That's something I hear all the time. Not sure why so many people feel that they cannot say anything else. It's annoying. But maybe some of these people simply just do not know what else to say. Some people are not good with dealing with certain things. What gets to me sometimes I think it's my own fault for talking to the people who I know will continue to talk like that. I should know better and I do, but sometimes you just want to talk to someone who happens to be handy, not because they can help you, but because you just need to talk to someone-anyone. And that is what they are---anyone. I now know rather than talk to someone who will only make me more upset; I need to wait and talk to someone who will just listen and not pretend to "know everything." Some who really understands without the I-knows.

It depends on what they are saying about me. If it is writing, and it is a lie, I would tell them to correct it, or I would sue them for Libel..depending on what they said..now if the 'think' they know you, you could correct them, and give them the benifit of the doubt..I don't really mind if they say that, unless it is something derogitory about me, and then if that is the case, I ask them to explain themselves, in front of the people they are trying to impress

It depends on whether or not I like the person. If I don't I would just tell them straight out. "You don't know me, so stop acting like you do!"
If they're cool,I would just ask, "How do you know?"

Ignore them. In the Army we were trained not to react even if spit on. If involved in any kind of riot control duty this is absolutely needed.

Respond with an amused tone in your voice and say something like "And what, exactly makes you think THAT?"
