I am 33 years old, I have been married 16 years and my husband has been in the Army 14 years (and just re-enlisted) I am strong but in my opinion my soldier is stronger then I am, he goes off to war, he goes to forgein countries not knowing what will happen, when and if he will get back home, not having any "me" time, he has no family members to comfort him, he cant pick up the phone and call home when he wants, he cant relax and watch t.v....I am strong and I am proud of being an Army wife but in no means am I stronger then my husband...my strength is equal. My husband cries and as well do his soldiers, I have witnessed this at many deployments and nothing breaks your heart more then seeing a strong proud soldier with tears in his eyes as he is walking away from his family to get on a plane to go to a god forsaken country. However I will admit that I am stronger then any Civilian wife could ever be.

i would honestly say its equal, being a soldier in the sandbox is very hard cause its like they are locked down and cant get out. now being a military spouse is very hard too, we have to be the mother and father figure at the same time for as long as daddy or mummy is deployed, we have to stay strong for our loved one, gotta take care of the house and the bills, etc..

Yes being the one left behind sometimes gets hard. I am an armywife and hubby and I have little..i wouldnt stay arguements but he thinks i have it the toughest and I say he does. Yes we are the ones staying behind worrying and missing our men/women but i have the comfort of my home and bed. I have the priveledge of tucking our children in nightly. It's not all a bed of roses of course but if i had to choose i would take my job over his.

I SALUTE YOU!!!! And agree with everything youve said. I am a RETIRED US AIR FORCE and married all 20 yrs of that career. My wife stayed back, took care of house, home, and kids while I was out serving my country. Bottom line all she got for it was a Certificate of Appriciation and the Poem and personalized picture I had made for her and presented her at my retirement ceremony.
AGAIN I SALUTE YOU and ALL LIKE YOU!!!
