ME ME ME!!!
Omg, the first book of his I ever read was Kiss the Girls and I could literally not put the darn thing down. I started it at work (shhh dont tell the boss) and I drove slowly on the way home just to hit the stop lights so I could keep reading. I didnt stop until I finished it, because it was that darn good!
He is fantastic. I love his writing style and how he totally pulls you into the story.

For a bonstermonster he's awesome, I only like him with the Alex Cross series. I've bought a couple of paperbacks and already read a couple from the library... even hit upon the one regarding his (first/only?) wife, a good emotional read, with the ensuing hunt (also followed through to a book or two, as I recall) being quite the ticket for action.
I like the way he 'profiles' as Alex Cross, then Patterson shows us everything from the criminal's view, usually a twisted one... it's interesting. I can't say I have an insatiable appetite or am even a huge fan but now I'd like to watch a few movies from the books; and read a few more Cross books!
EDIT: Wizjp, Did he really? & How do you know folks are helping? At any rate, the books begin already to feel formulaic, but many are and I have yet to change my view, though I wonder about what you said!

I love his writing, I just finished the 6th Target, a few weeks ago. I can't wait for the next Alex Cross book. Have you read Quickie?

Yes, i couldn't agree more!! I haven't checked out the alex cross series yet, but i do recommend reading "when the wind blows" and the sequel "the lake house" I couldn't put either of them down. Also the beach house, and lifeguard are page turners as well.

Used to be a fan; gave him up when he made Cross's best friend the FBI ageent a serial killer, shrunk the actual number of pages written to about 150 in a book and hired people to help him write. Pure cash cow.
People are helping as they have their names on books with him.
