OK psych people, majors etc. I have a loud voice and I read that there can be wiring in the brain that is messed up because I never realize how loud I am ???

no hearing loss, but i was an elem teacher and am retired an projected my voice all day so maybe that is it ??? I think so

Maybe people are not so subtly trying to make you out as being grandiose.

I had a quick flick through the DSM, and it seems like there is the following...


"307.9 Communication Disorder (Not Otherwise Specified)

This category is for disorders in communication that do not meet the criteria for any specific Communication Disorder; for example, a voice disorder (i.e., an abnormality of vocal pitch, loudness, quality, tone, or resonance)."


Looking through Google, it seems like there are neurological explanations, but they seem to be only relevant if there is some sort of associated impairment in comprehension.

So your friends are right, but it's not what you'd call a concrete diagnosis.

I'm not sure about that, but do you have any degree of hearing loss? That can cause you to talk loud.

er,maybe you can try talking instead of shouting? if you can't differentiate, than try whispering.
