The Detroit Tigers are now only 2.5 games out of the wild card spot. A lot of AL Central fans despise the Tigers, but I am pretty sure all AL fans despise the Yankees even more. So the question is, would you rather see the Tigers overcome the Yankees to win the Wild Card? Do you think the Tigers can win the Wild Card? And who is the bigger fan, Tigers or Yankees? Should get some interesting answers here.

Ok, it's not that White Sox fans WANT to root for Detroit or New York, it's whether who would they rather see lose more, and I personally despise the Yankees and would love to see them miss the playoffs. Sox fan or not, if you are a baseball fan, you still watch the playoffs despite if your team is in it or not.

Nacnud, are you just the biggest idiot out there or a small part of the idiot population? There is always one who has to ruin a fun spirited question. Instead of White Sox and Indians and Tigers fans bashing each other, I was curious to know that in terms of the current playoff contenders, which one is hated on more? And my point I am trying to make is despite the AL Central teams bashing each other, I think they would still unite and stand behind Detroit if it meant not having to root for the Yankees.

Here is the cold hard reality of it at this time. If the Yankees just go 7-6 their last 13 games than the Tigers are going to have to go 10-2 to win the wild card. If you just step back and look at this it is going to be very difficult for the Tigers. I believe the Yankees will be better than 7-6 and the Tigers won't win 10 games down the stretch. To answer the second part of your question, the Yankees have more fan support than any professional sports team, and I am not one of them.

What I'd like to know is, where were these loudmouth Tiger fans in 2003 when their team was losing 119 games?
You didn't catch me talking smack about the Yankees on the Internet the last time they stunk. You know why? Because it was 1992 and I'd never even heard of the Internet. OK, bad example.
Detroit is a city with a great baseball history, and the ones who were there in 1984 (their last World Championship), and the ones who stuck with them through the mediocre years and even the downright lousy years, are done no favors by these kids who only knew about the Red Wings until the Pistons started winning again, and have now started their smack talk. I can see it now: Three years after Matt Millen is gone, and the Lions are back in the Playoffs, these same people will be saying, "I was with them all along!" Yeah, surrrre!

Unfortunate for the Tigers the "Schedule Gods" favor the Yankees. They play the likes of Tampa Bay, Baltimore and Toronto pretty much for the rest of the season. Where Detroit plays Cleveland, Minnesota, KC(Who play the Tigers tough) and the Tiger Killers (Chicago). I say The Yankees get in.

The Tigers will not make play-offs even though they are 2 1/2 games behind for wild card. To me that's 3 games they have to make up against the Yankees who are one of the best teams in Sept so Detroit stays home for play-offs & Yankees win wild card. I would say there are more Yankee haters than there are Tiger fans. It's easy to hate a winner like the Yankees. Tigers have one good season,2006 & lose World Series & you fans act like you are a dynasty. There is only one DYNASTY in BASEBALL & it's the NEW YORK YANKEES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

im hopeing the tigers make it but if the yankees pitchers keep pitching lights out then its still good cause they will have to play the angels who have the best record vs the yankees but more people would watch the yankees cause of the money invested in the players and detroit had 1 break out year while the yankees r constent in the playoffs

I will have to say, I know quite a few people here in Tennessee that is from the Detroit area. They have to be the most loyal fans to put up the crappiest sports teams in the nation.
With that said, Sure, I'll root for the tigers over the Spankees anytime.

I will after they play Cleveland, we stil haven't won the division yet, and making it closer won't help.
After that I will root for the Tigers over the Yankees any day.

Do you really think that White Sox fans want to cheer for Detroit? Or New York?
Here is the answer - when the season ends on 9/30, I stop cheering. I root for no one.

Those Liverpool lovers were blowing their possess trumpets for the beyond 2 weeks simply considering that Liverpool beat 2 crap groups within the Premier League via three-zero scorelines and needed to depend on a handball target to overcome an extra crap crew within the FA Cup. Where has their consistency been within the first part of the season? OQ: We beat Liverpool at their possess subject and undoubtedly we will be able to beat them at Old Trafford once more, although Webb sends zero participant off. We even have the method to snuff out the likes of Suarez and Sturridge.
