There are a lot of natural supplements that provide energy that most people don't have side effects from. There's ATP (the source of cellular energy in the body), CoQ10 (which is used to produce ATP), L-Carnitine (an amino acid that converts fat into energy), Royal Jelly, B-vitamins, GABA, NADH (boosts brain transmitters dopamine and norepinephrine so it helps to fight fatigue), Ginseng, Eleuthero Root, and Guarana.

Boy, that's a lot when I write them all out. LOL! Those are the most popular items that our customers purchase for energy, so pretty much any of those should be a good boost of energy... however, different people respond differently to different supplements, so you might not get as much energy on some of the items as someone else, and you might get more energy than other people might from some items.

However.... it's MUCH more advisable to pull over and take a nap in a rest area.

Stay hydrated with plain old water and take a good multi vitamin and an extra B vitamin supplement. Keep the interior of your car cool and make sure you stop and take a stretch break every couple of hours. Pack a small cooler that you can keep within reach with pre-cut fruits and veggies to snack on.

The only safe way is to take a rest when you are tired. If you use anything to stay awake, you run the risk of "sleeping with your eyes open" which can end up with you, whoever's with you and whoever you hit in a freshly dug grave.

Caffeine is always a popular choice. Other than that, pseudoephedrine, marketed as a decongestant, is closely related to ephedrine, so it has some stimulant properties and some people prefer it to caffeine because it delivers a "cleaner" effect with a less "jittery" feeling. Not that I'm suggesting you use any medicine off-label, of course. ;)

When I need energy I take Instant Energy B12 by NOW. They come in packets and I dump it right under my tongue until it dissolves. Seems to help.

Caffeine. Since ephedra isn't around anymore, that's about as good as it gets. All the energy drinks and pills are just caffeine and sugar now.
