Why do we go along like sheep; dumb to be shorn? Leaders are spineless to do the will of the people!

To Philip H and the other primer readers, Philip, you question " are you serious" then you go on to support my point. Our founders would not put up with the very things we consider as just an annoyance.

Yes! then when a militia alerts, the watchdogs are turned loose to find federal infractions that threaten the stirring with jail or worse, such as Waco, and Rubyridge. Try ballots first, but when this does nothing, remenber to stay armed and dangerous to those that would destroy our concept of freedom and law by the people and for the people of our solvent unity. Stay diligent!

I'm guessing you mean the current American government, when you says "this government."

This government is made up of two large political parties. So, you are laying blame on both with your accusation. Secondly, how would the English King allow you to post such a question in a public forum such as Yahoo! Answers? You would have been arrested and jailed for such a thing in the 1770's. This is why the Founding Fathers put so much on the line when they signed their names on the Declaration of Independence. Their very lives (business, families) were put at risk by such a bold move. There is nothing to compare the repression in early American History to today's current debates of political issues.

No. The colonists had no representation in England. In other words they were oppressed but had no way to change things. We have a democracy and we therefore are getting, as the saying goes, "the best government we deserve." If people don't vote, or vote for scoundrels that is their fault. The colonists had no such choice.

Are you serious?
Study your history.
That is NOT to say we are totally free.
Our brilliant Founding Fathers gave us freedom. Then crooked politicians and crafty lawyers IMMEDIATELY went to work to start taking those liberties and freedoms away and shift power to the Federal Government.
They are getting more bold about it as time passes and the population becomes more ignorant of the facts of history.
Soon all will be lost if we don't change our direction and guard those freedoms enumerated in the Bill of Rights.
Power MUST remain in the hands of the citizen.
Those powers you posses include you money, your property, your right to bear arms, and freedom of speech as well as the freedom to practice your religion.
NEVER vote for any POTENTIAL TYRANT that wants to take your money by raising taxes or desires to restrict ANY of the other powers you are guaranteed by the Constitution.

If for no other reason we are allowed to elect our representatives.
