I think so I just retired from the federal government, they have to give you preference especially if you are a disabled vet, and even if your not they have to go by the federal disabilities act, they would have to tell you why you didn't get a particular job, and they even have to make reasonable accomadations for what ever job you to apply for, Since I know for a fact that most government agency are behind when it comes to hiring the disabled I think it would give you a real advantage, I know it did in my former agency. Apply for the job, you maynot get the first one but never give up if you really want to work, if you apply for a change at the same agency a couple times they will have to make accomadations for you, hay, you deserve it. I have been disabled since 89, they hired me the first time I applied in 92. Good Luck,

Yes this is definately true. The government wants to hire as many minorities as possible because it makes the government look diverse in statistical evaluations. However the majority of those who are disabled who work for the governement have desk jobs - such as secretaries, receptionists, etc. They do not represent a majority of people and do not play a large part in politics.

Yes it is. My dad is disabled and my dad worked for the gov for over 30 years. He had many co-workers that were disabled too. The goverment trys to be very fair to those who are not as fortunate as others, unlike the business world.
