The average American already knew that when the UN inspectors said there was no signs of WMDs.

Look, I'll say this ONE MORE TIME, because either you are too young to remember or you just haven't been paying attention.

1. The war with Iraq only stopped in 1991 because Saddam Husane promised to stop all hostilities, disarm and allow UN inspectors UN-IMPEEDED ACCESS to all military sites.

2. HE broke all theses agreements. Fired continually on American and British air craft that were patroling the Northern and Southern "No Fly zones"in Iraq. Kicked out the UN inspectors and re-armed his republican guard.

3. He was persuing a nuclear bomb and WMD in secret and bragged about it. ( I still say they were sent to Syria after all we gave him 6 months warning that we were coming) .

4. He used WMD,.. poison gas against the Kurds in the North.

5. The UN passed 16 seperate resolutions against him between the end of the Gulf War and our invasion and the 17th one , UN Resolution # 1441, stated the world had the right to disarm him by force if he didn't let inspections resume. He didn't and we went in.

6. The US and allies gave several reasons to invade Iraq of which WMD's were only a small part. ( The press would have you believe it was the ONLY reason,) but look at the actual speach given by G.W Bush, to the American people right before the invasion. He said...
A. because Iraq had a rogue dictator who was killing thousands of his own people,
B. because they continued to fire missles and guns at our air craft,
C. because he was buying wepons from France and others with the "food for oil money" while his people starved, and
D. because he was giving money to sucicide bombers and rewarding their familys with 10 thousand dollar checks. And E. because he had terroeist training camps in his country.
All these reasons were given for the invasion. But of course the media would have you believe only one was given and of course they would select the one thing we can't prove.

The war was just. The cause was real. The evil dictator is dead. And Iraq will be a much better place in the future because we didn't set by and let a mad man continue.

Remember it took 9 years after WW2 to get Grmany back on track and defeat the Nazies. And it took nearly the same in Japan. We've only been in Iraq a little over 5.

.

Iraq is a nice place strategically speaking in regards to the rest of the middle east. Thumbs up for establishing another foot hold in an ultra-volatile region, giving us another key area to carry out attacks from.

Uh-oh. Here come the loonies blathering about a fleet of trucks supposedly carrying a bunch of stuff over to Syria. As if there were even the remotest possibility that such a ridiculous thing could have ever happened.

No one ever believed Iraq had nuclear weapons. No one ever claimed that. Iraq had and used weapons of mass destruction. Chemical weapons were found.
The worst weapons of mass destruction were Saddam and his two sons. They were eliminated.

If someone called you on the phone and said they were going to hurt you or vandalize your property, would you call the police? I'll bet you would, because you would be acting on the information you had at the time. I know this is a lot to digest, but if you keep reading it you will get the picture.

Its amazing that every week there is a different reason to stay in Iraq but never a reason to leave. No one ever talks about the cost of the war or the innocent lives killed.

This has now unstabalized the middle east and they knew it would, Cheney had said so in 94....so if they knew this would happen, why did they let it happen?

The answer is simple and that is military contracts and oil.

I think they had to say,
1. "See...Told you. Go to Iraq for oil, not for nuclear weapons! Didn't Bush know that?"
or,
2. "See...Told you to vote for Kerry."
or just,
3. "Oooops..... never mind."

I'm pathetic.

They were moved from Iraq to Iran/Syria or some other country right under our noses! We must invade those countries to find Saddam's Nuclear WMDs BEFORE they give them to the Terrorists!
