It should be large, firm, and long. Ideally, it should have a nice curve to make it enjoyable. It should stand out from the bunch! It should taste good, feel good in your mouth, and it should explode with flavor when you put it in your mouth!

It depends on what and when you will use them. I usually try to pick 2 or 3 that are nice and yellow with hardly any brown spots so we can eat them within a couple days. Then I pick the rest on the green side so they will last a little longer and by the time they turn yellow, the other ones are gone. Sometimes, we are not in the mood to eat bananas and they sit there. Once they turn brownish, they are perfect to mash and make banana bread or muffins.
You can also put them in the freezer to make smoothies (strawberry banana, or just plain banana, or whatever you want).
We love eating the nice yellow bananas, or course fresh, but also bananas and cream. Sooooo yummy!!! Just cut them up and add sugar and heavy whipping cream and mix (I know, I know.... not very healthy, but yummy!).

Well, I like 'em kinda green or just yellow. If it has any brown, it is destined for banana bread at my house.

I like them thick, but not too long. I can't get it all down if it's too long. And not one that's too fresh either, if it's been around for a while, the whole experience will be a lot nicer, sweeter.
