Everytime I hear the Dems speak, they speak against Bush.
I have no problem with that, being that I don't support most of what Bush is doing either, but Bush is leaving the White House, never to return and so I would like to know what do the Dems gain from 'running against Bush?'

goldenrae-- you make a good point. I think that is why the campaigning started so early as well.

Because they are afraid George Soros and the Hollywood lefties will take the money away if they don't dance to the tune that's on their play list.

They gain a few KUDOS from other BUSH Bashers, but nothing else. I can seriously Say that the political process is backwards and outdated. Although the Dem's have done some innovative forms of debating and campaigning, as long as they duck and dodge the issues, they don't fall under much scrutiny. The real test comes soon. Once they realize they can't win by bashing BUSH,they will Bash the One Republican Candidate they Respect the least, and feel they have the best chance of winning against. The same holds true for the republicans. The sad part about it all, is that there needs to be a third PARTY. The moderates are the only politicians in congress looking at both sides of the debate, and making informed decisions. Last time I checked, the only way to solve a problem, was to weigh both sides of the issue, and make a decision based on facts. Until we stop the hate from within our own political system, how can we become a model to others?

Bush is a huge portion of the present republican checklist. in 2000 republicans if truth be told ran against Clinton... you run a platform on what has been finished no longer what somebody, who you do no longer even understand who it must be, would do. you're fake impact what systems are. they are basically approximately consistently modern-day problem vs what the candidate might do diverse or the comparable. each and all the republicans in 2000 ran on ethical management and restoring dignity to the Whitehouse... this wasn't Gore's meant vulnerable spot. Ron Paul is fairly working against Bush besides.

It's standard procedure to run against the current administration early in the race. That way you don't damage anyone in your party.
The Democrats are trying to capitalize on Bush's low numbers, not realizing their own numbers sank like a rock. Voters were kinda pissed off when they realized the Dem majority's only agenda item was to 'get Bush'.
The whole 'failed policies' line is a joke too, but everyone is in repeat-the-lie mode. We can't just cut and run from Iraq, and everyone knows it.

Well, I think it's because the Dems are equating President Bush with Conservatism and Republicanism. He really isn't a true conservative. But, If the Dems are hoping that we will lose the war, or withdraw (which amounts to the same thing), just so they will have "talking points" for the election in '08, that's treasonous!

I think they are trying to latch onto the wave of anti-Bush and anti-Republican sentiment that has reached tidal proportions. In all honesty though, I think this is a plan that won't help them in their quest to gain total control of the government as there are a great many American people (who vote) who realize that these people aren't doing anything constructive in Congress (except for fattening their own wallets) and are focusing all of their energy on a lame duck President. Unless they can out argue, Rudy, Fred, and Mitt, then they might mess up what would be a golden opportunity to regain the White House and essentially have a stranglehold over the government!
