The best answer for this is they are two different guitars with two totally different sounds. Jackson makes some high quality guitars and so does ESP. It depends on the sound you are looking for. Looking for a really heavy, rough sound Jackson is the way to go. Looking for more of a finess type of a sound I would go with the ESP. But, this also depends on the model. Your best bet is to try them both and see what sound. Randy Rhodes of Ozzie Ozbourne played Jackson's, Kelly King of Slayer play's Jackson's, Dave Mustaine of Megadeth play's Jackson's. Jackson is run by Grover Jackson who is no relation with the Michael or Janet Jackson. I am not sure where people get this info. Jackson was in partnership with Charvel guitars which was recently bought by Fender. So in essence, Fender owns Jackson and Charvel. ESP is Electric Sound products based in Tokyo Japan. They are also make good instruments. Dave Mustaine also plays ESP. So does Metallica. Jackson and ESP both make excellent thrash Metal guitars. I personally think the Jackson is a heavier sounding guitar and the ESP is more of a finess intrument. If you are not such a great guitarist I would go with the Jackson. You can get a real heavy sound and the Fret board is forgiving. The ESP you have people like George Lynch of Lynch Mod and Dokken and Kirk Hammet of Metallica who are real wiz's when it come to playing and the ESP is more their style because the Fretboard is not as forgiving and are more apt for people who can play really fast. Anyway, try them both see what you think. As for quality they are both on the same wavelength. It is a matter of preference. Good luck and keep on Rocking.

hi, 'C. The choir you're addressing has began showing up. i'd say loss of adventure, desirous to have something applicable, and somewhat concern of the unknown. no longer that i'd turn down a 'fifty 8 'Paul or Strat for say $750, understanding that a number of those Gibson and Fender guitars are lots of the ultimate, "from the rustic that invented Rock and Roll". What fairly bothers me extra is listening to right here from maximum of youthful ones agonizing over which guitar to purchase as a everyday device, hung up over the way it seems, even the colour, then this variety stuff. TC's right here so a good distance (your self included) frequently attempt to motivate novices to "import" that have by having somebody bypass-with buying, getting arms-on vs. clicking on %., etc, solid attempt, approximately all that is achieved. So i'm averting for a bite in the previous artwork, and could stress staggering by McDonalds, the main well-known hamburger joint interior the history of the unfastened worldwide, and bypass to a community place that has real nutrients.
