Remember, last year the Saints basically had a last place schedule so they had a bunch of easy games. This year they have a second place schedule and it is going to be a long year for them. They should do well next year, though - last place schedule...

Being a Saints fan, I will be the first to admit that they look very bad. The secondary is horrific, but that is really no surprise. The surprise is the total lack of offense. I don't know how the best offense in the league can become the worst over the course of one off season. Maybe Joe Horn was the glue that held them together, I don't know. I do know that if they do not correct a lot of things, they will go 3-13.

The Saints can still be contenders. They haven't even played a home game yet. There are factors that will make it hard to duplicate last year's success however.
1) schedule strength
2) last year they were able to suprise teams
3) It is impossible to duplicate the emotional wave that they rode last year
I see them battling for a playoff spot heading into the last 2 weeks of the season.

1) They have no defense. This is why the Bears blew them out last year
2) They lack speed on real grass.
3) One good receiver. That is it
Yes - they were the ESPN choice for Americas team. This year - they are back to reality....
