since the alcohol creates the effects - both.

people drink excessively for many reasons. none of which are justifiable.

Well I'm not an algoholic but the only reason I drink is for the effects...personally I think all alcohol tastes nasty!

The effect...that's why some drink vanilla or mouth wash, it's an addiction and no fun for them.
