me and a friend are trying to clean up a boat that has been weathered, and we want to know if there is any stuff you can buy at like walmart or home depot that will clean it up without damaging the fiberglass and paint... and would like an sos sponge be damaging? thanks alot!!

wd40 wont damage the gel or anything right? cuz it looks like its harsh

listen you need car wash and a little elbow grease the car wash you can get anywhere . i would NOT use wd40 its not a cleaner

An SOS pad would be too much. You'll damage the gelcoat on the fiberglass. Try something like Simple Green or other cleaners like that.

When our boat was filthy with sitting in our yard we used soft scrub but the thing that worked great were Mr. Clean magic erasers. Wal mart has a knock off brand that works just as good.

If it is colored fiberglass, Color Back is a good product.
Get it at Walmart and such.
Clorox type cleaner like Tilex and water and sun will clean vinyl great.

Get some 3M fiberglass restorer wax. It works great, and use a buffer with it.

Do not use anything rough or abrasive. Try Kaboom or Simple Green.
