It all depends. Some have constant bleeding for months, some have a period every three months, some spot at odd times of the day, and some don't bleed at all.

Before you get your next shot please check out http://www.rateitall.com/t-330-birth-control-methods.aspx and google "depo provera lawsuit". TOO many women have TOO many horrible issues because of depo.

I myself was on it for four years and I'm so glad I'm OFF of it. I am on Kariva now and a lot happier.

It is normal.

The injection doesn't always stop you from getting periods but it can reduce the amount of periods you have or reduce the length and serverity of the period.

When I was on the injection, I pretty much stopped having periods apart from the occassional spotting. You may find that the longer you are on the injection for, the more settled your periods become - and that may be when you end up not getting a period at all.

If you are due for your 2nd injection, I would ask the doctor or nurse to clarify these things with you when you go. They will probably also have information leaflets for you to take away and read.

Just remember that everyone is different and different contraceptives will affect people differently. There will not be any reason to worry, I am sure.

It's fine, its because the previous cycle of the depo of injection is nearly over and you are due for another one so the hormone isn't as strong as it was when you first got the injection as it has worn off a bit. Thats all it is, nothing to worry about!

It took about 18 months for my periods to stop completely , and I've had no problems with it at all!

I am all for the injection, as all my relatives became pregnant using the pill so for me its brilliant! Doesn't matter if your on antibiotics or if you are ill plus you only need to remember to have it once every 12 weeks.

Good luck!

Its normal if you just started. Don’t worry yet. The injection is not yet in your system.

Sorry about this, but are you sure you want to use depo. I just don’t like the fact that it tempers with your hormones. Just keep a close eye on your hormones. Keep well.

you sometimes do get periods on depo it all depends on weight, height, stress, activity etc depo can harm future fertility so think about it long and hard before getting your next shot!
