It's been established that the Patriots did cheat. But no, they don't have to to win, because they are good. That's what makes the situation so frustrating.
I see many similarities to Barry Bonds. He was already a Hall of Fame player when he started cheating. It was totally unnecessary.
Likewise, the Patriots were already a good team, and Bellechik a good coach without resorting to cheating. Once again, totally unnecessary.
I guess an individual's greed can sometimes be very underestimated.

Are all you Pats haters serious!!!!!! The video rule was not even in place during the championships!!!! And yes, you are all right..the Pats need to cheat...that's how we spanked the Charges so bad last night!!! While under the microscope we clearly decided cheating was our only hope...or wait, the announcers stated after the game that the Charges clearly are not matured enough yet...GIVE ME A BREAK! The Patriots have NEVER GOT THEIR DUE! Fine, they broke a rule...a ridiculous one at that btw...I mean they showed the aerial prints the whole game..folks videoing from all sorts of angles...all legal. If Mangini was not such rat...nark... and a big baby none of this would have happened. How do you suppose he knew of what might have been going on? Hmmmmmm...Anyways, yes, we broke a rule. we have paid a heavy price for that. Now everyone needs to get over it! If we would have lost last night all would have said "see, they can only win by cheating" so let's give them the credit they have earned. They beat a good team last night..and made it look easy. Try to remind yourself that every team has been doing what the Patriots have been called out on and the rule has not been in place long. Lastly, know this....the Patriots DO NOT have a glass chin....so watch out! We're coming for ya...

I dont care what anyone says, I believe all of the teams do the same thing that the Patriots did it. Although I beleive they do it a bit better by not standing on the sidelines in full view of everyone.
Patriots are a great team no matter what. Last nights game just proves that..

To bad Im a KC fan.. Edwards sucks.

Everyone is acting like this is the first time, it was not the first time. The Patriots have had other incidents in the past that involve people video taping signals, and radio equipment for the opposing team not working. They have been doing this for years, and knowing what an opposing team is putting on the field will help you in your play calling. I look at it as in Madden when you see your opponent pick a play you can call the play you know will stop it, and thats the advantage the Pats have had, they knew what play the opponent was putting on the field and could put the play out there to stop it. Makes me wonder if they shouldnt be stripped of their championships. Wouldnt that be funny?

I would love to rag on the pats like everyone else, but what they did is not that wrong...did anyone watch the game and see all the stuff all teams do during a game with cameras, etc that is legal??
Yes, there is a rule against filming on the sideline and they broke it and were fined - good. I don't really believe that it helped them "that" much more. Teams do all sorts of things to get an advantage, hire lip readers, scouts to go to opponents games...
I think the jets game was a set up though...the jets coach used to work with the pats so he must of known what they were doing all this time and then reported it when it was used against him - don't think he was against it when he was working for the pats...things to think about for sure.

A lot of people are ignorant. Teams ALWAYS change their signals from week to week, so it will never be the same set of signals. And teams ALWAYS try to steal their opponent's signals during the game.

The reason why some people are critical of the Pats is because:

1. They are one of the best teams
2. They broke a rule after a memo was sent a week earlier.
3. They got CAUGHT. Remember Mangini was the mole and he has a grudge against the Pats' coach.

It's the other teams who are not talented and cheat who will suffer the most. The Patriots will benefit from the rule crackdown.

"Who's to say they haven't taped the Chargers before and they already know their play calling signals? "

So, the Chargers decided not to change their signals (even though all the coaches are new) after all the media frenzy last week? More evidence that Schottenheimer never should have been fired.

I think they just proved that the cameras don't matter...They beat the 2nd or 3rd best team in the NFL in the Chargers...depending on where you put the Colts...It was the bad blood between Belichick and Mangini...It was the Jets game...Thats all...

obviously they don't have to cheat....but it didnt stop them from doing it anyways. so who the hell knows.. i can't even be like it doesn't matter though..because it happened and it does change my outlook on the Patriots. i can't but feel that way.
