I enjoy looking for my assignments on this site. I found my homework questions here several times last year. Copied all the answers that were given, then waited until the little miscreants turned in their papers so I could make comparisons. in all honesty, most of my students do the work on their own, but there are always a few lazy ones. I do not mind them using a search engine, but i do not allow quotes from wikepedia

LOL too many for sure.
It would be interesting for someone taking a statistics class to monitor this site for awhile and come up with a definitive answer to that.
I'd also like to see an answer on how many people enable these kids by actually doing the work for them!
I find it interesting that Y!A has no prohibitions about cheating in the community guidelines, but you can be reported for telling a kid to do their own homework. So, I guess Yahoo is the biggest enabler of them all.
I select the questions I give a "real" answer to very carefully. I'll help in editing, show how a math answer should be obtained (if I can), or point a student in the right direction to begin research. I'll also tell a lot of them to plain do their own work.

kids don't do "homework" these days that is so passe'. They just google and take the best parts of the search and tweak it as their own..... same as asking here for "help".
Now if they had to actually go down to the library and read and did the research..... would there be less of a drop out rate in school..

i only use Yahoo! Answers when I have no idea what to do on my homework. It's a last resort. I try to do as much as I can on my own.
