I've never seen you post an abusive answer or question, and I know the rules by heart. Obviously a few people ganged up on you and got your account deleted. Keep pursuing the appeal! They are restoring a few accounts here and there.

It seems that only repeat violators and those who repeatedly bait the other side get booted. Everyone does it, but those who do it repeatedly draw attention to themselves, and not in a good (or wanted) way.

I rarely report people, and when I do, it is only for directly insulting others. I have received 3 violation notices in the year and a half I've been here, and I've never been suspended.

I know a few people who have been "targeted" by the other side, but they are the exception, not the rule.

I haven't had my account deleted, but I think some people were giving me the thumbs down for even the most innocuous answers-like about infant adoption! They must've followed all my answers. Silly, eh?

Yep.. I like yourself have been "deleted" more than once.
I'm hopeful that Y!A's new "Report it" program will curb some of the un-necessary "reports" due to the fact that Y!A are now tracking the people that "report" others and why.

I get violation notices all the time, and occasionally my account gets deleted.

The ones that have hung on for a long time are generally 3rd or 4th generation using almost identical variations on their names.

Yes, I am aware of it. I am sure many answers get deleted by people posting outrageous political statements and who don't like intelligent, well thought out answers.

I do believe that's why they're trying this new point-based system because there have been some ill feelings and some goofy actions taken.

I had a few violations when the republican lawyer was around, who seemed to make it a mission of hers to silence everyone not right wing (through wierd technicalities) .

only the worst get reported...or most damaging and maybe the ones who upset other people the most

Yes. Posting one violation question does not get someone deleted.

Flagrant violations do get your account deleted.

If your account was deleted, what are you doing back? Can't you take a hint?
