Notre Dame is really, really bad. Wonder where are all the Notre Dame apologists now who say Notre Dame still can compete once Weiss gets going?
Fact is today's inner-city athletes have ZERO desire to go to Notre Dame. The history, tradition, and conseravite elitsm just doesn't resonate with these kids. Rivalries with service acadamies don't interest todays elite athletes coming out of high school. The ones that do care have to deal with ND's tough academic standards, and that turns away more playmakers.
Weiss may be a brilliant game coach, but the game is won by players -- not plays.
Notre Dame just doesn't have them. While the Michigan loss is bad, it isn't as disasterous as it may seem. Michigan still has a ton of talent on the offfensive side of the ball, and despite 2 early losses, they have the horses to put up points on anyone.
Still, the fact they can't score at all against a very suspect secondary speaks volumes about where ND is.
I love it. All of those years of ND acting like their better than everyone else "we will join the Big 10 for basketball, but we are too important to join it for football" -- now who is laughing.

The answer begins with recruitment. Many players want to play for a winner. Brady's beat down in the SEC resonated with the best players on the ability of Charlie to coach their future. Many future NFL players feel they want to be at a school that can win and also has great academic. Looked at Florida with their recruitment and Illinois. ND has high standards as they should and Athletes and their Parents should put Academics first and that is definitely changing as Florida demonstrated when all of their Basketball starters came back for a repeat Championship last year and to complete the year.
Charlie Weiss and the ND corp will have to take some of those broadcasting rights on recruiting and not so much on building a bigger institution. Football and Academics are the institution without without either you lose there in the press and in public opinion - thus recruiting.
But i will say, do not count ND out of the bowl games because looked at their conference. After they get through the top stuff who else do they play Navy, Army (smile). There are still some W's in their future - remeber they are an independent school. Win or lose they win the PR game.

Notre Dame's offense has as much fire power as all of the Presidential campaigns combined.
App St is like John McCain - currently out of the picture, but waiting to blow out the next person that overlooks him.
Michigan is like Hillary - thinking they are that good only to have to return all of the money their boosters have donated for the early season scandal.

I heard that Notre Dame scheduled Northside High School for their open date.
And that Northside is favored by 3.

my brother is a ND fan.. and if my team wasn't sucking it up so bad I'd feel bad for him.. but combined our teams are an amazing 1-5.. but on a brighter note.. we've got a couple young QB's that will be superstars in the future in Jimmy Claussen and Kodi Burns
