Diffusion takes place when regions having different concentrations of a given substance are separated by a barrier that is permeable to that substance; the substance moves from the region of higher concentration to the region of lower concentration until equilibrium is achieved.

Carrion is the dead body of an animal, so any animal that eats carrion is a carrion feeder. Vultures are probably the best known example, but many insects (such as the giant carrion beetle) and bacteria are also carrion feeders.
